If LSU beats Bama

As long as they don't trip up anywhere else...their only loss is to an SEC East team (Florida) so they would win the West.

**Edit - They do have a couple of tricky games after Bama with Ole Miss and Arkansas, so that's not a given.

Then if LSU beats Florida what do they do? Take a 1 loss SEC team (which one?) or an unbeaten Big 10 team?

I don't know...that's a scary proposition because LSU's SOS would be ridiculous if they beat Alabama and then Florida in the SECCG. Their only loss would be to Florida and they would have some pretty substantial wins.

Somebody will tell you that there is no way that the BCS takes an undefeated Iowa team over a once defeated LSU team, but with the way the voters have been voting so far, we're not going to get as much credit for beating OSU as LSU might get if they were to beat both Bama and Florida.

There WILL be a SEC in the National Championship Game one way or another, the media will see to that, no matter what!

The "media" has no say in who goes to the BCS NCG. It's the coaches, that select panel that votes in the Harris Interactive poll, and the computers. If Iowa garners enough votes and computer points to get to No. 1 or 2, they're in the Jan. 7 game instead of the Jan. 1 game.

I don't know if anyone would in good conscience vote a one-loss team from ANY conference ahead of an undefeated team from a BCS conference.

Look at the geniuses in the AP did with Oregon and putting them ahead of Iowa. I use the term "genius" very sarcastically here.

Where as in the polls that actually matter, we moved ahead of Cincinnati in the Coaches Poll and are within a couple of dozen votes of the #4 spot.

We also gained more votes in the Harris Poll.

Despite the media's negative portrayal of Iowa and the AP Poll.
