If Iowa gets that interception instead of a bs defensive holding call..........

it sure makes you wonder if the outcome would have been the same. I also thought we got held quite a bit and no holding penalties for OSU.

Great effort. I only wished Iowa's d-line was a little more salty in this one.

The holding call on Lowery was legit. It'd be tough to commit a more blatant foul than that.

The second holding call (where the receiver pushed off and was wide open for a first down) was BS.

Thought both calls were nickle and dime cheap calls.....and how late did that flag fly out after the interception?

You really need to find a replay of Lowery's. It was obvious.

I would have to look again, but I remember seeing some light contact before the pass, and the OSU receiver tripped over his own feet, interception, then the flag comes out ever so late. But, would have nice get that one. But, that flag came out really late.

Clearly def holding. Not close. Wish it wasn't the case...it was.

The 2nd holding call was on a different receiver that didn't catch the ball. He was held bad. I rewound and watched because I was curious why the guy threw his hands up in the air.

Not so. Ticky-tack at best. Just because he has ahold of the jersey, doesn't mean it's holding. He didn't pull, tug, impede, etc. Their feet got tangled up and the guy fell down.

If you want to see holding, watch OSU's o-line trying to block our LB's on runs to the edge. On the last TD drive, there was a run left where the OT had his arms wrapped around AND was grabbing Kirksey's jersey. I watched it on the replay, because I couldn't figure out why (but I really knew why) he had his back to the play and couldn't get off the block.

The 2nd defensive hold was crap. I was cheering because I "knew" he called offensive PI. 2-hand shove for separation right before the catch. I don't usually yell at the refs during a game, but this game was terrible.

Yes the play where OSU tight end bear hugged Kirksey, man was that ever a big bad no call hold. Refs were def homers but could you expect anything less in Cbus?

The holding call was legit.

What irritated me was the numerous holding non-calls when Miller would reverse field or Hyde went to the edge.

That is the way I saw it too. The refs were for the most part awful in this game.

I was thinking that Iowa was going to score at the end, recover an onside and get called for offside and lose to Urban...again.

I jumped into this thread to talk about the hold on Kirksey. There's something wrong there. It wasn't away from the ball, the ball went right past this hold...and the TE had his arms around Kirksey, not inside. That's the definition of a hold...and it's right on the corner. That is unacceptable that that wasn't called. It was a huge play for Hyde.

In a game like this...Iowa needed a few breaks...and we got none. OSU didn't turn it over, and we didn't get a few calls that may have made a difference. I'm not saying we lost because of the officiating as it wasn't that bad. We just can't afford not to get a call like that. We aren't good enough to overcome it.

This. There were a couple of key non-calls. This was one of them. But the refs were okay.

I did the same thing on the no call on kirksey. Had to rewind to see why he looked so lazy on that play.
