If B1G expansion results in this, would it make you happy

I know there aren't a lot of fans of expansion here. But say we add two more and we go to 4-4 team divisons and Iowa's division is Nebraska, Wisconsin and Minnesota, would that make it more palatable to you due to the fact that we get to play our three biggest rivals every year?

It would for me.

I wouldn't mind that. So that means we would play 5 or 6 (9 game conf. sched) out of the other 12 teams. To me a 9 game schedule and you play half of the other teams each year and then switch in 3 and 3 out each year. That allows you (except for the first year) to play a home and home with each team before they are off your schedule for 2 years. Also, by doing 3 at a time instead of 6 for 2 years then switch you don't have the same exact schedule 2 years in a row. To me that would be acceptable.

Example of how the other 6 teams would work for Iowa (assume pitt and kansas for example)
Year1:
OSU
Purdue
Illinois
Marlyand
PSU
kansas

year2:
OSU
Purdue
Illinois
Rutgers
Michigan
Pittsburgh

Year3:
Rutgers
Michigan
Pittsburgh
Northwestern
Indiana
MSU

Year 4:
Northwestern
Indiana
MSU
Marlyand
PSU
kansas

This way you play every team 2x every 4 years, plus your 3 rivals every year.

How would you determine who plays for the Big Ten title game?

I am just sick of us not playing Illinois ... anything that gets Illinois back on the schedule is what I would vote for. F Nebby, Minn, and Wisc ... Illinois is the team I grew up hating (QCA).

by the way, the 4x4 pod system could work like this ...

West
Iowa
Wisconsin
Minnesota
Northwestern

South
Nebraska
Missouri
Kansas
Illinois

North
Michigan
Michigan State
Purdue
Indiana

East
Ohio State
Penn State
Maryland
Rutgers

Sticking Illinois with the old Big XII schools would be awesome. I hate Illannoy.

I could easily see us getting that shaft, though. Iowa, Nebby, Mizzou, and Kansas are contiguous.

Last I check Missouri is in the SEC now. They are not leaving the SEC for the B1G.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually like the look of that. Well played.
