I'd be surprised if Fitzgerald isn't fired after this season. Losing to Army is just unacceptable at any B10 program, maybe he can get a job in the Sun Belt or at an FCS school.

If they fired Fitz, it would bankrupt NU's athletic department. He ain't going anywhere, but he needed to yank Colter sooner. But there were a lot of folks at Kinnick today questioning JVB 'til he O'Keefed Pitt so it's a tough call for a coach, but the frosh who replaced Colter promptly marched the 'Cats in for a TD and the game was good until their defense Parkered the game.

If Fitz is fired by NW, and Norm retires, maybe KF would hire Fitz as D Coord and head coach-in-waiting.
I like that head-coach-in-waiting thing. It has worked very well elsewhere in CFB at big name programs.
