I will say it now......

If we fire Lick and hire Keno we are still going in the wrong direction. Keno has proven absolutely nothing up to this point in his career. We fell for the COTY tag three years ago, let's not do it again. Be smarter than that Barta.

He is in his 3rd yr as a head coach. Fact.
We've trained enough of them. Fact.
His record is getting worse each and every year. Fact.
He rode his dad's team to the big dance. Fact.
He hasn't won a single NCAA tournament game. Fact.
He won 4 conference games this year. Fact.

Don't do it!

I"m going back and forth with the Keno thing. I think we need to try to get a big time coach but Keno would be near the top of my list of fallbacks along with Mike Davis.

12345, ^^^^^^^, and the rest of the Hawkeye Nation Hater Brigade will find something to complain about, no matter who the next coach is.

You still standing behind your "insider" comments of only a week ago how the big donors were still behind Lickliter and implied Lickliter would be here for some time?

What's your take now?

Keno seems like he would be a gamble (no pun intended). I would love to see the Mr. Davis system implemented again but I'm not sure how proven of a coach Keno is. I probably would prefer someone like Pearl or Stallings but I guess I wouldn't be upset one bit if Keno was hired.

I know, we're not seeing alot of Lickloving going on all the sudden. Why do you expect? Are we supposed to just agree with any choice Barta make especially after the last one.

No, can't recall saying anything like that. If you could point those out to me, that would be fantastic.

As for my take right now, I think it's way too early to speculate on what might happen. Nobody knows anything more than they knew at noon.

I agree totally with the OP. Keno is another 1-year-wonder IMO, and we have done that with our last two hires. I DON'T WANT TO DO IT AGAIN, because it hasn't worked the last two times. Not necessarily that Keno can't succeed, but he is totally unproven, and I have a horrible feeling that Keno Davis could be another catostrophic hire if we go that route.

A guy that has been a one hit wonder could end up being our only option. I really can't see why a coach that is doing big things on a consistant basis would want to take on the rebuilding project unless its about money...But that doesn't mean we can't have high hopes.

Why in the hell are people even talking about Keno? Didn't he have like 1 good season with a team that his DAD put together and then hasn't done squat since then? Keno would be Lickliter part deux.
