I thought a dribbler stumbling and going down was travelling??

I believe that you can fall to the ground with the ball without travelling so long as your pivot foot does not move.

That said, it looked like a travel to me.

After falling down, his momentum caused him to slide a few inches across the floor as well. It was a pretty obvious call that got missed.

I thought the refs performed pretty poorly down the stretch of the game. That said, there were probably also bad calls that helped Iowa.

If someone watched all the tape in slow motion from every angle, maybe they'd find that the total number of bad calls favored TN. But maybe they wouldn't. At the end of the day, Tennessee played pretty well so kudos to them for playing well and winning the game. Sucks for Iowa. Another kick in the groin. That's life I guess.

One of the worst calls I have ever seen. Too bad Coach Fran did not let them have it for that. A good chair throwing would have been fitting.
Fran was out on the floor getting ready to let the refs have it, he was trying to control it a little but you could tell if he got near a ref it wasn't going to be good. Players and asst. coaches went and got him. I believe one player was Woodbury. I'm glad he didn't do anything, could of cost them the game in regulation.

Sliding with the ball is not a traveling violation. However, falling to the floor when you have control of the ball IS a traveling violation. The question is if he called timeout before he hit the ground, in which case it would NOT be a travel. That's what the refs called. I know it stings, but honestly, the refs don't win or lose you a game...playing crappy basketball does. Like getting outscored 14-1 in OT.

I thought you could slide for a loose ball, but not if you fall down with possession and slide since ipso facto you fell down with no pivot foot. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I also thought that arms straight up with feet set is not a foul, on me.
Signed,
Zach McCabe

Seriously, officials called so many bush blocking fouls on McCabe during his time here.

Yeah, the replay last nite showed stokes jumping directly into mccabe who was in perfect position.

Again, I am saying these refs stunk it up but even at that Iowa only has to hit a few more of the many shots they took to win this game.

The refs didnt lose the game for Iowa but they didnt help.

I think if they call it better/fairer ( like when White went to the hoop and the TN player reached around him, threw White off balance and when White fell into the other TN player it was a charge on White) then Iowa isnt in as much trouble at the end, it is not as close, , . Double missed calls.

The bad calls and crazy difference in foul numbers also gives TN new life.

It's one play in a game with hundreds. Did we miss shots? Did we have turnovers? Did we foul w out a foul being called? Did they not foul and get called for one? COME ON MAN!!
