I think we need MSU to beat Mich today -

We dont want a contender to win on the road. We need to handle MSU at home and MSU has these injuries.

Let MSU win today to give Mich a first loss, the hawks beat NW and MSU and then the hawks are only 1 game out of first.

This is a huge two game stretch, which is obvious, but the point is isnt it great to be talking about the hawks maybe being a game out of first after 8 games.

I think Mr. Davis had two teams this close and Alford maybe one this close.

Go Hawks

I am torn on this one tonight. Jon and Wolfgang said UM has the toughest remaining conference schedule in the country. I also think MSU is going to lose a couple games that they would be expected to win if Payne and Dawson were healthy. I think we root for the home team tonight (MSU) and then if Iowa wins Tuesday they are only a game back of both teams.

I agree with this completely. MSU is going to be scary when they get everyone healthy. I'd rather see them lose games now because I don't see them losing many later in the season. I think it's great that Michigan beat them at MSU, because I'm not sure that the they can take two from them. As good as I think Michigan is I think they lose some late in the season, simply based on the difficulty of their schedule.

I think if MSU can drop some now, and Michigan cools off a bit, we've still got a chance.

I completely agree with this. What Michigan is doing right now can't be sustained throughout an entire conference season. This is something you can do over a 5-6 game stretch (i.e. NCAA Tourney), but not over an 18 game grind in the B1G. So I fully expect Michigan to drop 4-5 games between now and the end of the conference. MSU, though, needs to lose NOW because once they get Payne and Dawson back, they will be scary good.
