The best part about it if he does choose the hawks is they can bank that open scholly for a year. After this year we'll have 2 I think Eric May is only sr next yr, and STILL HAVE A YOUNG TEAM. 2 yrs from now this team should be tough if they stay together.

I haven't lived in Iowa for a number of years but is he good enough that we would be considering taking him if he wouldn't have played his HS ball in Iowa?

If that was a rule, it's not anymore...it would be just like transferring anywhere else, except he'd have to pay his own way the first year instead of sitting out on scholly.

The Big Ten's rule is not as draconian as it one was...time was where you lost a year and had to pay your own way.

Since he is not released from his scholarship to a Big Ten school, he'd have to pay 2012-2013 on his own dime...then in fall of 2013, he could go on ride for last three years.

Iowa's biggest concern is just making sure to follow the p's and q's to avoid tampering..but to get called out for tampering, you really have to be blatant.

I just felt the obstacles were too many to overcome. If it winds up being Iowa, I will believe he knew he wanted to go there right from the get go and slow playing it these last couple of months was by design.
