I think I'm done

Fool me once shame on you, fool me 95 times...

Thank goodness for Fran and the boys. Bball season can't get here soon enough.

That's all of us...
Exactly, me as well. No ill feelings towards NCHawker, but we're all armchair QB's when it comes to Iowa football. Things have become so frustrating under Ferentz, it really is time to move onto a new head coach, but we are stuck with this stubbern ass of a coach for who knows how much longer. Ugggghhhh!

Life is too short for this. This year smacks of 2012. I won't be surprised to see 4-8. I think I'll record the games and do other things. Reading this stuff and calling to mind my own observations is a close 2nd to watching Iowa's offense.

No this is not 2012. We have been in every single game to the end. Kirk is going nowhere and same with Barta so maybe you online guys and ones watching from home should take up saturday league bowling.

as a staunch KF defender on this site... I'll admit, on Saturday - the thought at least crossed my mind that this is getting old. That was not the best called game by Brian. But then I realized that this is a young team, that had a tough schedule and lost it's two senior starting tackles before they were half way through the year. Mix that with losing the BEST LB in the country and I let the loss sink in. This is a down a year for Iowa football. I can accept it, because even in a down year, it's probably going to still be a winning season. The last 2 years, have been pretty good years. I expect the next 2 years to be pretty good years. I just disappointed because I thought we'd see more growth on offense.

Why is it just now getting old?

I'll watch on tv. I'll go to games. I'll bitch and moan when they squander opportunities. And I'll swear next game will be different. And sometimes it is.

But, if you don't want to do so, I've got no problem with that. Not everybody is as mental as I.

He won't necessarily be back. I quit watching games for the most part after 2012. I doubt I've watched more than 3 or 4 games in their entirety since then. Thus far this year I've watched part of the 2nd half of the Illinois game and nothing else. I still want the Hawkeyes to win and follow what they're doing online but I don't watch anymore. They're boring to watch and it's been made clear that the administration is OK with that and the mediocrity that is Kirk Ferentz. Until that changes I doubt I'll watch again. Unfortunately due to nepotism and the never ending Kirk love in the administration, it's probably a 99% certainty that Kirk's kid ends up being the next head coach so that our inexorable march into vanilla mediocrity can continue. I'm 55 years old and I just don't find Iowa football worth my time on a Saturday afternoon anymore. I went crappie fishing yesterday and absolutely slayed them, including two 14 inchers. That was fun.

Also before any of the Kirk humpers start jumping all over me, I don't think he's a horrible coach; he's OK but not any better than that. He's not a great recruiter; the one thing he does really well is develop offensive linemen. Seems like a nice guy and he does a lot of wonderful, charitable things for the community and the university. A lot of people are happy with him as the head coach and I get that. It doesn't get me all bent out of shape that he's still here, I just don't watch or go to games anymore because I personally just don't find it to be any fun. Kirk is the guy who is still trying to keep his VCR repair business going.

This is exactly how I feel. I love my Hawks but watching this week after week for 3-4 hours is not worth my time or energy and certainly not worth the money to travel to Iowa City to watch in person. This weekend I am traveling with the wife and we were hoping to sit down and watch the game at a local establishment. Now, we are gonna find other things to do. It's sad to say but the truth often hurts. It just isnt fun football to watch.

Well said. I'm pretty much in the same place, but I still watch most of the games. Thing is, I basically watch because I usually don't have a lot going on Saturday afternoon, so why not? I'm still a fan. I'm around, so I turn on the game. That said, I don't plan my day around Iowa football anymore.

I too think KF has overall done a good job but I think he's past his prime, and he's done all I think he's capable of, or has the desire to at this point in his career. I guess that latter point could be an issue. Basically, I feel good when the Hawk FB team wins, shrug my shoulders when they lose. It just feels... Stale. This isn't 2004 anymore. None of this means I am accepting of mediocrity - I just don't see the point in getting too worked up over it at least until KF retires. I live in Tampa, FL so there's nothing I personally can do about it. Not like I can cancel my season tickets or anything.. It's TV or bust for me.
