I think Hlas read my post....

In regard to Iowa as a double digit favorite,,,,mind blowing stuff considering two (2) other teams were actually undefeated during the same time period that we had lost THIRTEEN!!! You cannot make thee numbers up folks....I really HATE you Barta!!!

Yep. If KF would win the double digit favorites games at an "acceptable" clip, we aren't in this position. You should win 95% of the time and be 45-3 instead of 35-13. If that is the case Iowa is undefeated and everything is puppy dogs and roses so far this season.

What I'd like to know is why the media doesn't blast this kind of stuff in KF's face during post game interviews rather than ask questions that yield he standard canned responses.

I sent Moorehouse some salary vs wins stuff compared to the top paid coaches at the time...we pay for mediocrity.

IMO any coach can at Iowa can 1. Beat ISU 2. Lose to FCS schools 3. Lose 1/3 of games being a double digit favorite.

We get teased with a few special seasons that give us Stockholm syndrome with the current staff but the majority our seasons are disappointing and the cycle isn't going to stop. We have a weak AD and a culture that accepts losing.

13 losses in just over 10 years. More than one loss per year as a huge favorite. That is NG.

the media is afraid to question Feretnz or Barta for fear of having their Iowa media credentials taken away from them. I heard they did this to IC Press Citizen beat writer Pat Hardy and Rob Howe.

Laughable that they would remove Hardy....I always looked at him as a total lap dog...and had friendly e-mail battles with him telling him so on several occasions. He would be considered as such in places like Ann Arbor or Columbus....Ferments has NO idea how easy he has it in the state of Iowa far as criticism!!!

Why does media at all the rest of the football and basketball programs get to ask tough questions but our media can't?

when Spurrier was coaching at S. Carolina a few years ago he got really mad at the media and during his weekly press conference he began by pulling only a few of the local media one by one into a separate room and let them ask him questions whiling shunning the other members of the media that he didn't like.

Media being soft on KF:this was one of my pet peeves from 2012 and 2014. Belicheck can get away with canned non-answers....the Patriots win. Did anyone ask KF why King was no longer a captain? These media types roll over for KF every time, if nothing else, provoke him and get a Hayden Fry response, he needs the media more than the media needs him. So you get shut off from the pre-game appetizer bar for awhile, so what. Ask the questions the fans want to know. You have the nucleus of a 12-2 team back, why are they playing with no passion, no heart? You have a left tackle that consistently allowed CJ to get hit from the blind side, why is he still playing? CJ, is he playing afraid? Why is Beau Bower still starting? You have a defense that seems incapable of stopping the run, why are you not making changes?

Like that would be a big deal. The way their playing they don't deserve any coverage anyway

The only thing 'consistent' around here is your total lack of knowledge and understanding of football. CJ is 'consistently' hit from the blind-side? Well, that's inaccurate and it's not all on Croston. CJ is SLOW in his reads (he can't even get to his check-downs) and has NO pocket presence this year (he steps 'into' the rush, not away from it or up into the pocket) and holds the ball too long. KF referred to this in his PConf., but I'm sure you don't think he knows what he's talking about either. Listen, Croston isn't the best LT we've ever had, this isn't all on him. Watch last years NW game. CJ was hobbling, Croston was making his first start at LT, Daniels made his first start EVER at LG and Welsh had to play RT. The pass blocking was WORSE last year, but CJ would step up in the pocket and THROW UNDER or at least hobble back to the LOS as opposed to just standing their looking lost. And they ran screens and draws to slow down the rush which they didn't do this year.

And I can't BELIEVE people are still going after Bower, when he is one of the least concerns we have on defense. He's still starting because he's our best WILL and is making about the least amount of 'mistakes' on the field. FACT! Our D-line is a mess, Taylor has been horrible and Jewell (although he plays hard and makes a ton of tackles) has screwed up as much as any, etc. etc.... What 'changes' do you really believe will help? Do you really believe they have people on the bench who are better, lol..? The whole defense is not playing well 'consistently' (and I don't think some of you realized how good Meiers was against the run, and we have a HUGE dropoff there) but blaming Bower and wanting to replace him is just pure ignorance. Tell me his 'mistakes' in the NW game?

Couple points.
1- if anyone asked Kurt about this, he would blow it off as some bs about Vegas not playing football games and that's why games aren't played on paper and that's football, so what is the point.
2- why would a reporter care about losing Iowa credentials. The players don't get to really talk for fear of the doghouse and 90% of this board could write ferentz's press conference without ever hearing it.

Been saying this for years!

After that game, you have to look and think what game left is really a for sure win for Iowa? Purdue maybe, and I am not even so sure about that one. This season could go south real quick. If we could pound Minnesota there then maybe we get back on track, but we all have the memory of the 2014 game there where we were just destroyed.

100% FACT - anyone notice CJ isn't scrambling this year like he did last year? As if he's play not to get hurt? Protecting his NFL hopes? I'm sure King is glad he came back for his senior year for this.....
