The regular season is over. Is this actually season 15 or 14, whatever?

Again , it was just great to watch the hawks improve week to week to week.

I think KF instills this in his players and it will last a lifetime.

KF and his coaches have had a lot of on field success but the graduating players is another top legacy item.

This actually is an interesting question: what will Kirk Ferentz's legacy be when he retires/dies?

"He took Iowa to the national championship game." I don't ever see this, although that could be said of hundreds of college coaches.

"He dominated the Big Ten." Other than an occasional year, I also don't see this as his legacy.

"He regularly took his team, and its fans, to warmer weather bowl games." Yeah, OK.

"A former line coach who put several of his players in the NFL." Yes, to a degree.

"He ran a clean program, never brought dishonor to the university who employed him or the fans who supported it." Not exactly tombstone material but yes.

Unlike his predecessor, I don't see Ferentz's legacy being a coaching tree in college and the NFL.
