I think Wisconsin Defense was that good. CJ will have better days. And it was pretty windy out there and no Smith to throw to.
I see some people are down on CJ...I think Wisconsin had something to do with that

Agree with this, zero adjustments in the 2nd half to shut down 58 was ridiculous. He almost single handily beat the Hawks today.

I think Stave was given more manageable throws and they did a better job getting their tight ends involved. However, he still had an interception and was not always sharp out there when he needed to be.

2 tournovers and 3 points in 3 drives that got down to the 10ish yard line. It wasn't good but was pretty close to being a lot better. Fortunately we didn't need more this time. Hopefully against Northwestern we can turn those 3 drives into 21 points.

C.J. was awful. He about gave the game to Bucky. I can't remember when Iowa when won a game when the quarterback was so pathetic.

This would have been a totally different game with Tevum in there. Hopefully another week of practice will help the CJ to J Smith timing.

CJ struggled today, and I think the absence of Boone Meyers had a lot to do with it. Wisconsin had consistent pressure, and they also have a legitimate top 10 defense.
An ugly win is still a win. Today the Iowa defense was the star of the game. On to Illinois...

CJ had some struggles... but I thought schematically and in the play calling is where we struggled.
We needed to come up with a plan for 58

No doubt. With Rudock at QB, we are either 3-2 or 2-3. Beathard had ZERO time to do anything. Hopefully Smith and Duzey are back real soon.

I think Iowa's injuries hurt them more than Wisconsin's. We still won, on the road, against a ranked opponent. CJ will be better next week. He is still perfect as a starter.
