I really hope Ohio State's players are as confident coming into Kinnick as their fans

Re: I really hope Ohio State's players are as confident coming into Kinnick as their

Until we beat them at least occasionally they have the right to be confident. I act the same way when we play Minnesota

Right now, tOSU's special teams is worse than Iowa's, and that's saying a lot.

I agree. I think people are jumping ship because of just a couple of bad plays. Where you can have one person miss and assignment on a play and it makes the whole unit look that bad. What gets me is how bad they say Stanzi sucks. He has had one interception this year and it was a pass that hit Marvin right in the hands. He made some great passes that game too...and has all year.

If they think Stanzi sucks just wait until they see what happen's to Pryor's decision-making ability when Clayborn is bearing down on him with bad intentions.

Right, we would be talking the same crap if tOSU blew a game like we did. Hopefully this team proves the hype they are getting, but last weekend certainly didn't. Suckeye fans always have, and always will be the most arrogent fan base in the country. This does not bother me, not at all. They have a lot of football to play too, and there NOT invincible..

I wouldn't say they are worse but they aren't much better, both teams need to improve.

Kickoff Returns against:
OSU 102nd 1 TD
Iowa 116th 1 TD

Punt Returns against:
OSU 113 1 TD and they have only punted 4 times.
Iowa 34th 0 TD's and they have punted 7 times

Field goals:
Barclay 8 for 9
Iowa amazingly enough hasn't even tried a FG in 3 games

Kickoff Returns:
OSU 18th 0 TD's
Iowa 29th 0 TD's

Punt Returns:
OSU 56th 0 TD's
Iowa 23rd 0 TD's

Well see...aside from giving up a return TD...none of those stats should lead anyone to believe that the special teams are terrible.

First off, I think Stanzi is playing smarter this year. That said, he had 2 or 3 throws in the game hit arizona defender hands and then the ground. One that immediately comes to mind was in the endzone and I believe it went right through Wade's hands. I also realize that special teams put Stanzi in a hole and throwing a lot was the only way out. Having the AZ performance as the only true measuring stick thus far, I guess what I'm saying is that I've yet to form an opinion of Stanzi this year.

My OSU buddy sent an email last year after they lost to Purdue telling me Pryor was the worst QB ever and that Iowa would kill them if he was still starting. He also was ****** that Stanzi got away. Since then OSU hasn't lost and won the Rose Bowl.

Two lessons: no need to implode over the Arizona loss and people have short memories.

correct me if i am wrong, but i don't think stanzi had lost a game he started and ended since Illinois in 2008.

Iowa had punt blocked on Saturday, and I think tOSU has had multiple FGs or punts blocked, one for sure.

Re: I really hope Ohio State's players are as confident coming into Kinnick as their

why wouldn't tOSU be confident? when was the last time Iowa beat them, what should make them think things will be any different this time around?

they just watched an Arizona team handle Iowa and expose both offensive and defensive weaknesses. and to boot, now Iowa is down to one serviceable running back in an offense that is "run first".

tOSU has every reason to be confident and cocky until Iowa gives them a reason not to be

I never said they shouldn't be....I said I hope they are. Cause if they are...they will get whooped. Re-read what I said.

2004, in the woodshed. But before that... eeesh.

Re: I really hope Ohio State's players are as confident coming into Kinnick as their

OSU is the dominant team in the Big Ten until somebody knocks them off that perch. They have won the past 5 titles so I think they are entitled to brag.

I really hope we beat them not only the team's sake but for Ricky. It would be nice to have them eat their words with Ricky having a big game. Like him or not he's been a very good player and great representative of our program. I'll take him in the clutch despite the 4 sack situation last weekend.

I am chalking up the Arizona game to just a flat out bad game until I see more. KF's record for our first road game of the year is horrible. Often we lay the Arizona type egg up at ISU since this is typically our first road game. I have no doubt we will play better going forward but the question this year is do we have enough.

The formula to beat OSU is you must beat them in the trenches. If you cannot handle them on either line of scrimmage you have no chance but if you do they will crumble because they are not used to handling adversity. This does not happen often to them but we have seen it by our hands in 2004 and in some of the Nat Championship games.

My primary concern is our O-Line got handled at Arizona. Iowa prides itself on being a physical, grind it out team but honestly many of the issues offensively happened losing battles in one on one situations in the trenches. Not Iowa like.

We'll wait and see....

Iowa will beat Ohio State. I don't see how they lose the rest of the year honestly.
