I really hate to say this

Oh good, ******* salary discussions. And the basketball board is now a step closer to being the cesspool that is the football board.

College sports fans boner for screaming about coaches is just the worst ******* thing ever.

You sure about that? There's been a lot of games where I wonder where his mind is? Probably on his bank account I'm sure, cause it's certainly not focused on the game.

What a freaking joke...I'm not going to get into it with you because this is the bball board not football...but...I disagree 100% with you.

You can disagree all you want, KF's record speaks for itself. 27-24 the last four years, no top 25 finishes, one bowl win, one winning record in the B10. Lotta money for extremely mediocre results.

I'm going to ignore where this thread went, and say I enjoy watching this team. But I can't recall a two year stretch with so many gut-wrenching losses.

I'm not upset about yesterday, at least they had the decency to go out and just get beat. But there have been so many other losses that just rip your heart out.

Agree, like watching the first half and don't get upset when they implode in the 2nd half. It feels like the season is dragging on now. They are what they are, middle of the pack top 40 team that now has issues that should have been addressed by now. That first NCAA game will be exciting but not surprising if they loose.

Dude, go back 4 years. This team is a hoot to watch. Fran is fun to watch, you never know what he's going to punch, kick, throw, etc.

Ya but what you're really saying when you qualify with 4 years ago or as some like to do by bringing up the Lick years is, "This team is less worse to watch than the team 4 years ago.".

I watched Lick-ball the first year but then hardly watched them.

I luv watching Fran's hawks even though the last 3 weeks have been tough. Feb and March last year were great.

BTT and then the dance and just enjoy Marble and Basabe.

I disagree with the one poster who said opponents have figured out how to stop all the other players except marble.

I see Gesell averaging 10+ the last 6-8 games and distributing the ball.

Without him getting sick, basabe was really playing well, that was a huge loss but I think he can be a matchup problem as he can hit from 15-18, maybe even he should try a few threes, and his boards and inside play can be great if we would just get him the ball, he needs to demand the ball more.

Just browsing through some of the posts this thread puts me back in that bizarre, but sadly familiar mindset where I find myself wishing I didn't love the Hawks so much so I could just walk away. Yes we have great attendance and travel really well, but sometimes I can't help but think our fan base SUCKS far worse than any of our teams ever have.

It is ironic, as other Big Ten fans have commented all year how much they like watching Iowa play, because of our style of play.....yet, due to the last 13 days....some Iowa fans have lost their minds.

Please do us all a favor and stop watching the Hawks and posting your angst.

I enjoy watching this team, a lot. I don't much care for losses. This team is the best we've had in over a decade.

Please tell me under what criteria you are using to make this statement!? Or you are just delusional. Actually last year's team will end up with more wins.

Isn't that kinda what this message board is for? Under what delusions of grandeur do you enjoy watching entire half game meltdowns. Other teams make adjustments and Fran gets out coached. You can't keep scoring 50 in one half and 17-20 in the next half and expect to win games....just doesn't cut it. And he's had NO answer for getting his players motivated to play DEFENSE which wins close games.

But I just don't enjoy watching this team play. I actually enjoyed watching last years team much more. Maybe it was just the higher expectations this year?

Well, unless you are in some sort of Clockwork Orange situation, strapped into a chair, with your eyelids propped open, there is an easy fix. Just turn the channel and watch something more satisfying like Housewives from Atlanta or something similar you are more likely to enjoy.

Well, I haven't enjoyed the recent stretch very much, that's for sure. Watching the Hawks lose is not enjoyable whether the games are in the 50's or in the 90's. But at least the team is competitive again and plays a far more enjoyable style of basketball compared to our previous two coaches. So in that regard, I enjoy watching the Hawks at present much more than I have at any time since since Mr. Davis was let go.

It still all depends on winning vs. losing, though.
