And a few of those were pretty big in terms of when they occurred.

His basket toward the end of the half should have been waved off; he shoved May out of the way to get it, and then early in the 2nd he grabbed Paynes forearm while Payne was driving the lane, and Payne was called for travelling.

I said it in the game thread, OSU was called for 6 fouls in the first 10 minutes of the 1st half, and one the rest of the way. Iowa wasn't called for any fouls at all in that first 10 minutes, and collected 6 over the last 10.

I don't know but he might be the worst free throw shooter I've ever seen. Once they got in the bonus we should have just fouled him every time he touched the ball. Just like a turnover.

I just complain about inconsistency. Why is it that we put our finger on the guy with our hands straight up and they call the foul, when we are getting held like crazy on screens (Lauderdale!) and other plays.

Constistency. I don't know how these guys play the game. It would be frustrating. Players are going to foul, but when you call picky cheap stuff and then don't call obvious big stuff it's crazy.

Lauderdale was also 5 for 5 from the floor. We should have been fouling him on every shot attempt...hard! We should have been fouling him early and often thru out the game...it would be like a turnover for OSU with his ft shooting.

As soon as there is a reason not to, I won't.
No one is saying the refs cost the game, but as I've said a billion times, BB officiating is the most subjective form of all the major sports. It's going to be prime for nitpicking.

Did Iowa get away with some calls? You bet. Go back and read the chat, we discussed those too. But OSU got away with walks, but even worse were the constant shoves during rebounds and "clearing out" on drives. Cole does his fair share of clearing out, but most of the time he has the decency to be set.

I respect Thad Motta and think he is one of the Big Ten's best coaches. But he works the refs and constantly whines like a little school girl. Very unbecoming if you ask me. You have a good team. Take your damned medecine and just keep playing.
