Something needs to be done with this program.

I'm a loyal Hawkeye fan, but it's hard to get excited for an upcoming game. I thought this was a game we could've won today.

MSU was the best D Iowa will face. So there is some hope. Purdue definitely. Michigan possibly.

* Once it became clear early it would be a passing game for both teams then our Achilles Heel's reappeared.........pass rush on D & WR talent on O.

* Lost the battle in both trenches, where it all begins.

* Purdue on the road?.......maybe.

* Take away offensive opportunity too many times in a game when you don't choose to run back kicks or punts when the opportunity is there....especially later in the game when you're behind.

* Besides Powell on rare occasion, do we have any explosive element on the team? Where's Wimberly when we need him?

* We may be playing the game faster this year (we're still a slow offense) and when you're playing the game at a faster pace and not making first downs you're just wearing downing your D and giving the opponents more opportunities on O.

* Talent gap.......few want to acknowledge it but it exists.

* Think we got beat by a good team but future opponents are not going to let the MSU QB sit in a rocking chair and fling completions all day. We made their passing O look better than it is in all likelihood.

* There's always "hope" as Hawk fans have learned especially well in the last few years.

that would put Iowa at 5-7, which i predicted prior to the season. i know that would be disappointing to many, but shouldn't be surprising.

That was my prediction as well. We might beat Purdue.

MSU went and ruined things by improving since their ND game. Maybe Iowa can improve and beat Michigan and Purdue. No reason to believe this pass defense can hold OSU, NW, Wisc, or Nebraska. I just would love for Iowa to beat Nebraska.

That was my prediction as well. We might beat Purdue.

We may-as long as we have any bodies left. Did anyone really think we could run Weisman like we had been and keep him healthy.

I predicted 3-9 so they've exceeded my predictions. I did not predict a win at ISU, I also thought that only the Minnesota or Purdue games were winnable and I picked Purdue.

I have been on the record of 6-6 since before the season started. A lot will depend upon how the team responds after this month.

This is going to be a tough month. MSU, tOSU and NW these were always going to be tough. MSU was Iowa's best shot for a win in October. Didn't happen. And if Iowa beats tOSU it would be a monumental upset. And NW a major upset.

Last year they could beat lesser teams 50% of the time. They were dog crap. This year they can beat lesser teams.

Improvement is evident. Still don't want to sit through another season of disapoint waiting for KF to field a "good ball club"

We can beat purdue and I think should unless their true frosh QB lights us up.

We might get one of the wisky, nebby, NW or Mich games as Mich's defense could be suspect as could be Nebby's.

But we aint beating OSU even if they play lackluster and the hawks play well.

I am really hoping for 6 wins and a bowl game. This young team needs the bowl game practice reps as well as some reward and hype

With 5 of Iowa's last 6 opponents ranked or RV, I don't see more than one win (Purdue) as anything close to a lock. Michigan is the next best chance--I think Michigan could start 7-0 and finish 0-5)--but the other four games could get ugly.

Purdue sucks bad probably a win for us. North western and Ohio and Wisconsin and Nebraska all a bad sign. We have been known to pull one off and get six wins for a bowl game. Not looking good for Iowa State either.

Uihawk 82 you are so very correct and I don't want to sit through another bad season either but being a cub fan I guess I have more patience BUTT THESE COACHES NEED TO WAKE UP AND STOP MAKING THE SAME STUPID PLAYS OVER AND OVER!!!! The rest of the other teams left are not nearly as good as thug u and I think we will be ok. Not super but fairly decent.

Did you watch North western play Osu we will have to pick up the slack to beat one of the next four teams. Just hope we don't fail with Purdue and get lucky with one of the next four games.
