I knew we were in trouble when Olaseni fouled out

A bad game is an understatement to say the least. He got dominated on the defensive side and couldn't throw a pebble in the ocean to save his life last night.

I'm not pinning this loss on McCabe, I'm saying that the coach made a terrible decision with playing McCabe at the C position once Woody fouled out of the game. ISU made 6 free throws and a layup in the final two minutes of the game. They had nothing to fear inside the paint.

McCabe went O-fer last night. His shot was not falling and we had no inside presence once Woody left the game. If his shot isn't going down then he is a liability on the floor (see Ogleswinkel for additional reference).

This is now the 2nd game this season that we have gone small to close out the game with a lead and lost. I hope that Fran sees the mistake and stays big going forward.

ISU offense spreads the defense out and takes the help defense away. The problem was all the dribble penetration; big guys don't do well vs. dribblers [Utoff struggled staying with his man]. Olaseni wouldn't have helped much.

In many ways, this was the Hawks best game this season. It's too bad a few missed free throws cost the win, but it doesn't negate a big game by White, Woodbury's best rebounding game with a couple of good defensive plays, great assist-to-turnover stats for Gessel and Marble, and several good offensive plays. ISU is a very good team and the Hawks had a chance to win in Hilton.

As I've stated in a couple other threads. I honestly don't think we lost this game because of late game stress, pressure, whatever... We give up some 7-0, 8-0 and 9-0 type runs in most of our games. It's partially due to our style of play and that's fine with me. We tend to answer with a dominating stretch. I think this particular 8-0 run just happened to take place at the end of the game and we didn't get the chance to answer.

I think that was me. I do have a clue. I just dont enjoy berating young kids on the internet. I think I made my point with that kind of comentary
My comment was based on someone saying he had a tough night...Zach had the worst game of his career...get a clue.

I agreed with you and I don't like kids being berated either. Zach had in my view the worst game of his career and that is that, but I guess I can't say tough is an understatement without ripping on Zach. You do have a clue...IPA....I will just leave it alone.
