I just got done interviewing Darian Cooper. Check out what he had to say

As a journalist and corporate communicator, kudos on your questions. You didn't dance around the questions and I think you asked questions that most fans wanted to hear. Good job ...

Good question about the hospitalizations. A lot of fans would have stayed away from that question so as not to stir the pot even though they were thinking it. So the interview actually had some balls. Denis Dodd should take notes on how to be a good journalist.:D

Agreed, that was the first thing that jumped out at me (not just the rhabdo question). Excellent questions, nearly all of which were open-ended (first rule of interviewing, avoid yes/no questions), a good portion of which were good subjects to touch on.

Obviously there were typos, but that's easily correctable with practice and having other eyes look over your work.

Overall, great stuff!

Nice read. I'd like to commend you for your choice of Cooper for an interview. Every Hawk fan wants to get to know the new guys. Keep it up!

Best of luck to you. It's a hard road to travel.

Debbie Downer, way to instill confidence. Any career path is challenging and rewarding. I applaud the young man for working hard and encourage him to pursue his goals. What you're saying is like telling someone interested in med school how hard it is to get accepted. It may be the reality, but it serves no purpose to mention it besides creating a defeatist attitude.

I believe Dennis was just outperformed by a 17 yr-old.

Thanks man. Yeah, I always set up my interviews days in advance so I can properly prepare the questions I am going to ask, as well as getting my questions in order to make the interview go smoothly. I have an extremely high amount of drive to achieve my ultimate goal, which is to be the next Gary Dolphin and Jon Miller :). I realize I have an enormous amount of work to do to get better at the journalism aspect of things. That includes proofreading, word usage and how I describe things. I just try to stay focused on the task at hand and store the constructive criticism in the back of my head. Some times its hard to keep my self confidence up, but the kind words that fellow hawk fans give him is encouraging so I truly thank each and everyone of you. Go Hawks

Well done, sir. Many of my family members are in journalism. Though they went to Northwestern, I still call them family for some reason. I let it slide since it is the best Medill is the best journalism school in the US.

Anyway, really quality questions and a nice job promoting your interviews. You are making good steps toward your career. Journalism is dying but working with an online blog is the future. Keep looking for any opportunities like these and keep plugging away. I am a Sports Management student myself and would love to write anything that involves the business end of the Big Ten or Iowa. Good luck man!
