I just don't see Iowa winning Friday

And I hate to say that as I'm usually a half glass full guy. But the more I read about Temple, good defense, strong center (not tall, but physical) streaky 3 point shooting (have to imagine they'll have open looks), good in close games...I just don't see it. Please convince me otherwise.

Here's the thing, it's not about Temple at all.

If good Iowa shows up, we win by double digits possibly with subs in. This is the Iowa where Uthoff and Jok are solid but not doing everything, and the supporting cast and bench play to their season averages.

If below average Iowa shows up, close game, who knows

I predict, and we have seen it before.

They will shoot 3's, and they will all go in.

We will become frustrated as all their 3's go in.

We will lose the game, and continue to wonder why when other teams shoot 3's they always go in.

I will come back to message board and tell everyone we must be cursed because the other teams 3's always go in against us.

Will then watch Temple play Villanova, and watch them not make any 3's.

I see Iowa winning this one. Iowa is too good in transition, Iowa will have the edge on the boards, Iowa is more athletic. Iowa is the better team. Also Iowa has done great under Fran in the round of 64, he prepares the team well.

Temple shoots 40.5% from the field. They shoot 34% from 3. They shoot 68.4% from the line. They went 6-6 in the non conference. They lost to the 6 good/decent teams they played. They beat the 6 bad teams they played. How bad were those 6 wins? Below is the Kenpom ranking of their 6 non conference wins.

217 - Minnesota
275 - Delaware
273 - Farleigh Dickinson
256 - Penn
348 - Delaware State...Seriously, Delaware has 2 teams?
264 - LaSalle

They beat Minnesota by 5 and Penn by 4. This team should be in the NIT...IMO. If I could pick any team from the at-large pool to play I would pick Temple.

Did Fran and staff get the players to hit the reset button? That's the only thing that matters. Not who is better on paper. Iowa can beat just about anyone if that button was pressed.

Where is this magic reset button you speak of, and has anybody told Fran about it?

This is exactly right.

Iowa has played exactly ONE game in "Round of 64" under Fran, albeit a hugely successful one. Prior to that, Iowa played exactly ONE "Round of 68" game which was **ssed away in OT.

I see Iowa winning, but only because Temple is probably four to six seeds "worse" than "good Iowa".

I remember last year when EVERYONE was picking Davidson to upset Iowa in the NCAA's and I mean everyone. Then we steamrolled them by 30.

I still think Iowa wins this one. Thereby giving me and everyone else hope. They will save the collapse for Villanova.

So if we lose to Villanova, it's already a collapse? At least let the game be played.

I think iowa took the big ten by surprise and then teams really focused up and took them seriously and caught up to iowa right when they were slumping.

I'm glad iowa is done with the big ten now and can start surprising teams from outside the conference who haven't seen their length and ability in person

When was the last time you actually thought Iowa would lose?
