I HATE HAWKEYE BASKETBALL

let me start out by saying that yes i understand Iowa is a young team, and the future is bright and the past 5 or so years has been tough...but as long as i have been following Iowa bball closely (2000) they have almost always been a LET DOWN team. any time they play a must win game, they almost always lose in frusterating fashion. They get so close, but then **** it down their legs.

2006 Iowa had a great chance to make a run in the tourny, and what happens, they lose to NW ST. since then they have been bottom of the B1G, and sure, win acouple upsets, but lose to the teams theyre suppose to beat. how can you go from beating wisky, and looking good by doing it, to playing horribly the next week against an average purdue team? What made Iowa so good in 2006 was 3-pnt shooters. Horner and Huleska could make anything, and when Pierce played he was dominate also. This year, Marble tries to do to much, white is more of a post player, and Gessel gets hot at random times, but goes cold when it matters the most. And what is so special about Ogelsby? people were high on him in the offseason, but ive seen nothing from him all year.

Iowa is always going to be a bottom feeder in the B1G if they dont start getting better perimeter shooting. the post players are there, get better shooters!!! Jok better be that guy next year....rant over.

I took an nap this morning, and when I woke up, I was suddenly transported to the football board in September of 2012.

Uh, Purdue was -2 favorite in today's game. Now I know betting lines are not always in line with who is supposed to win the game, but I don't think this was a game Iowa was supposed to win. It was a game they could have won. They should have won it with a few made FT's in OT.

Pierce averaged 16.1 points his last year at Iowa, so he and Marble "dominate" about the same since Marble is averaging almost 15 per game. Are you really complaining about Gesell being inconsistent as a freshmen? Can you remember many freshman at Iowa having better seasons than what Gesell has had? He is generally solid for this team. Oglesby is a role player, no more no less. He is not going to win or lose any games for this team. Iowa needs better shooters as you say, but you can't really do that in the middle of the season, so we have to live with this team as is for this year. I think both Jok and Uthoff will help on the perimeter next year.

1. Pierce and Marble aren't comparable, IMO. Sure, their point averages are similar, but Pierce also played with Horner, Brunner, and Haluska. He played with those guys, and was still Iowa's best player. Marble wouldn't have even started for those Iowa teams.

2. Oglesby is a role player, yes. And he sucks at his role.

I am not comparing them, but I would not call Pierce "dominant" either. He was good, but he wasn't the greatest outside shooter either. Marble is a marked man, so to do what he does and to be this team's best player is equally impressive. You put Marble on that team with Haluska, Horner and Brunner and he would have been pretty darn good as well! Overvall, I think Pierce was probably a little better. Will see how Marble shakes out next year?

'Horner and Huleska could make anything, and when Pierce played he was dominate also.'

If you're going to rant, learn some grammar.

Dominate is not the same as dominant.

Also, it's Hulaska.

We all hear you bergy and feel your Hawkeye pain!. I'm not sure how you decompress or relax after a loss... a long run or a swim, some treadmill work or weights... just work it off. If you that doesn't work it's OK to even just drink heavily, throw things and eat really bad food... it's OK... just don 't hurt anyone.

The Hawkeyes really are back... I know, my

IOWA is BACK

gets old but you really need some patience. No matter what...... Iowa gets to play in a post season tournament (not so much in '68 with Sam Williams) and a tie for the Big Ten.

Even if the Hawks don't win the big ten tourney they still will play in post season... NIT, some college BB tourney, another tourney or the NCAA.

It's time for patience and all these close losses and freshman mistakes for all these fellow Big Ten teams will come back to haunt them for years to come.

Did I mention?

IOWA is BACK
