Anyone else notice that Iowa now has stitched on letters as apposed to printed on in the past. This is the first year i've noticed, and i'm sure that is the sole reason Iowa is 8-0

Is this also the first year (in many) that we have the ANF (America Needs Farmers) sticker on our helmets? Please enlighten.

I think you are right on this...I remember seeing something about how they always wore this sticker during the Hayden Fry era and just brought it back...

Its not the stitching on the jersey its the Swoosh...I really would love to do a study to prove that if you do not wear Nike uniforms you have already doomed yourself not to be a champion...Michigan totally blew it by switching to Adidas...bad move

ANF= America needs farmers. This was a Hayden Fry thing. Iowa wore the stickers to support midwestern farmers during the farm / forclosure crisis of the 1980s early 90's. The NCAA passed a rule eliminating teams from wearing stickers decals on helmets other than logos and award (example:buckeye leaves) so Iowa had to take them off.
Not sure what changed but Iowa wore them last year too I bleieve but they were smaller and at the bottom of the helmet. I love the ANF logo and hope it stays.

I believe the ANF sticker is an award. You have won yourself the right to represent the University of Iowa. Pretty sweet award, I think.
