I Finally Got To Hear My Favorite Song Today

Not all cubs fans are ********. I for one am a cubs fan because when I was falling in love with baseball there was only one team on all the time so I chose them. I dont understand why everyone has to hate the cubs.

I thinks it's like yin and yang...for every lover there has to be a hater....for life balance.

I don't care if you like the Cubs, but if you think hearing "Go Cubs Go" after a big Cubs win over the Pirates in mid September when the Cubs are 19 games back is better than hearing "In Heaven There is No Beer" after Iowa beats Michigan or its rival, Northwestern, you are a moron and have no place on HawkeyeNation.

A northwestern fan posting on an Iowa board chastizing somebody for liking an MLB team more than the Hawks. LOL. Classic.

I'm a Nationals fan. And the Cubs do suck. So I'm glad to see my team take 2 out of 3 on the road against the Shlubs.

The Cubs have the money to put together a winner, the only other team with more fans than the Cubs is the Yankees. And they always have a winner. The Cubs just know that they can put an average product on the field and the fans will still come to the games, get drunk, eat food, and buy merchandise. Why screw that up by building a winner, then the fans will start to raise their expectations. They know what they're doing in the front office. They've been doing it for decades... and it works.

Yep that's what everyone wants a club that sells tickets and can't perform. Hendry tried to win by throwing money at it, and it didn't work and has now put the club behind the 8 ball. Epstein is actually building something. Right now they have to develop a system, because even the Yankees know that you need some kids from the farm and can't do it all with free agents and huge contracts. In a few years some of the more atrocious contracts will be gone and the farm will have been rebooted a bit. Expect a few big signings.
One thing I like about Theo is he said he learned his lesson and won't be paying for past performance but potential future performance. Meaning he won't give 7 year contracts to a guy that is 30 years old and past his prime anymore.

That is music to my ears. The cubs will get it figured out, but it will take some time that is for sure.

Things are definitely going to be changing under Theo which is a plus for the organization.

Wow a northwestern fan telling an Iowa fan they have no place on HawkeyeNation? Nice logic there. Especially since I go to Iowa.

I imagine many people hate the fans because of the "This is the year" statement. I am a Cubs fan, but I could understand that after hearing this 103 times, it may be pretty annoying.

I haven't heard any Cubs fans say that this year... that tells you how bad this team is.

Everyone knows that 'Roll out the barrel' is the best song in baseball...
