I am ready to watch the resurgent DLine

I think KF said they wanted to RS him but needed some help last year ( understatment ) so they pulled his RS

This is exactly what happened. They pulled his RS because they needed him. The only reason I think we could be reading too much into that is because there is a chance they may have sat down with a couple of players to discuss pulling their redshirt, and Ott was simply the most willing to do so. Let's say they sat down with both Ott and Faith, but Faith wasn't a big fan of burning his RS that late in the season. In that case, it doesn't necessarily mean Ott showed more upside. It would simply mean he was more willing to sacrifice a year. To his credit, he did manage to hold his own for the most part when he was put into action.

I like Ott, but am looking for someone to come in and be a difference maker. Thats asking a lot but the key to the season probley rests on the DL. I know QB is huge too, but I think with the line the QB wont have to carry the team. Just manage the game. Most KF good teams have good defenses

All of KFs good teams have had good to great defenses. Also I think there are only a couple of years that Iowa has not had aleast a good defense under kirk. The thing is Iowa has had so many great defenses that I think sometimes that makes some of the good defense seem not good.......ya follow?

Yes and I agree, But I do think think it all starts the the line. I think we might be surprised how good our LB are. If the line is good. I think our secondary is OK but if the QB has all day to throw Im afraid they my have trouble

I agree that you and I are in agreement.

I think the LBers have proven they are good at the defending the run and that they "can" cover in the passing game. We just need to see less mistakes in their coverage. Which will come with a DL that holds their own.

Any chance LTP could play some DE this year? Last year he had really good pursuit speed so it seems like he's quick enough.
