I am fine with a play in game!

This team needs to prove that they want to be there and that they deserve to be there! They played themselves into it, so they can play themselves out of it by winning and moving on or losing one last time and going home?

Play in game. MEH. So.... I guess Iowa needs to win one more game to prove it belongs in the REAL Tournament that begins on Thursday & Friday.

Am I "OK" with this? No. I'm less than excited.. Lose, and you just lost a play in game. No more, no less. That said, Iowa is getting what they deserved, so I am not going to sit and say Iowa got hosed.

Queue IPA to tell us how great it is to be back in the dance, in 3... 2... 1...

I guess if Iowa does beat TN, I do like their chances to beat Umass, though.

Tell me 3-4 years ago we'd be in the play-in game today and I'd take it. Tell me a month ago and I'd tell you to **** off.

Obviously a higher seed was achievable this season, but I am happy that Iowa was called on Selection Sunday. Much better to be called then to be sitting there wondering what happened.

As some of you know, I've lived in Tennessee, since 2000, and after Iowa, I would have been cheering for Tennessee.
This is not a good match-up for Iowa. Do not let the body of work of Tennessee fool you, they have looked solid their last 5 games.
They remind of the style Northwestern plays, except with more talent.
Jarnell Stokes was a huge HS recruit out of college, and Jordan McRae is an NBA-talent guard, probably better than Marble.

It's all about the pace of the game. If the score is above 70, Iowa wins.
Tennessee is very motivated, as they've been on the bubble the past month, plus.
Not sure about Iowa's motivation, as they should've beaten Northwestern, and by 26 points, like they did the previous 2 match-ups.

I'll cheer for Iowa, but I see Tennessee winning this by 10 points.
I'm curious as to who Bruce Pearl is rooting for?

Tennessee is on fire right now. We may be in big trouble

4 of their last 5 wins are against what could be argued as the worst BCS teams in one of the worst BCS conferences in the country. I don't call Vandy, Auburn, South Carolina, Mississippi St and Mizzou quality wins. But we did mud ourselves against NW.

Kenpom has both their adjD and adjO in the top 50. They're a solid team and I don't think Iowa beats them. Not in their current state. In fact, I think Tennessee beats UMass too.

At least they have a chance. It's better than the NIT, but man... A play in game.... Sigh. That was the only way I wasn't going to be legitimately excited for the start of the tournament, and that's what happened. Not over 'til it's over though.

I wouldn't mind it as much if we were playing decent basketball but I just don't see how this team is going to beat a decent/good team right now.

After the NW game, yeah, that is my fear, too. My only hope is that this team realizes that it's "do or die" time, and finds a way to play with some heart this week.

Best scenario for this team. They can say they made the tourney and end the season and bad blood ASAP. Won't be back again next year unless Fran finds a pair of starting guards.

Please explain: If you are claiming that Iowa is not yet in the NCAA tournament, then how are they seeded? I see a #11 for that column. Also, there are numerous teams that qualify according to your definition but have lower seed numbers than Iowa. I don't get it. But, I am certain you can explain clearly enough that even I can understand. Thanks!

UMass is seeded too high...finished in a tie for 5th in their conference. The Iowa/Tennessee winner should make it 2 in a row.
