Hypotheticals: Stokes, Dillard, Cougill

Too much coffee combined with a reluctance to start the work day is to blame.

What can Stokes do next year? Can he contribute defensively on the press and maybe block some shots?

Any word on Dillard's son possibly coming as a walk on? He has Iowa listed, along with TCU, Okie State, SMU and a few others, but no offers. He would be a nice addition..6"2 combo guard. Maybe even an emergency offer if everyone falls through the cracks?

Has Cougill's ship sailed? I wish him the best, but don't think he is a big ten caliber player.

I am going to stick with Brennan. He is the leading scorer and rebounder on a Number 6 ranked Eagles team. He can contribute in a positive way. Not saying he will start. I would trade him for Stokes, Archie, Brommer even up. More skilled than all of them. He played some good minutes for us. His rebounding improved dramatically toward the end of the big ten season. Mccaffery and staff can get him in to game shape. Lickliter's strength and conditioning phylosophy was not good for a Cougill type player. He needs to be pushed. And he and Zach will compliment each other since they have played together for many years. Obviously this is opinion. We will see soon enough I guess.

I defended Cougs when he was on the Iowa roster and I still like what I see today. The kid is a solid, big body, that can contribute. We are in short supply of bigs and nobody seems to be knocking on the door. The only way to get better players here is to win with what you've got. We need to start posting some Ws. Once that happens then and only then will the players start taking the program more serious.

Nope. Need to take some fliers on some guys. The current roster is not ever going to be good enough to start posting more wins.

I think Cougill's ship has sailed and is sinking from the excess weight it is carrying. Wouldn't mind seeing Dillard.

Surprised we don't mention Dillard's name more. Rivals lists him at a 3 star, but no offers. The kid has a lot of high major interest, and an obvious family tie to the coaching staff, so its surprising we hear so little

Cougill could be a star...at Augustana of Illinois, Coe, Benedictine...any number of small schools. He has a nice, soft shot for a big guy, and that's it. He has no foot or hand quickness, lacks speed of any kind, and in general has nothing that could help the Hawkeyes. I wish him well, but his Iowa career never should have been and never will be again.
