ACC would gobble up good Big East teams Pac Ten and SEC would take good Big 12 teams and the Big Ten would be screwed. Plus, how many more cable companies would move the BTN to basic with only ND?

ND only is a finger in the ****. Do that and the future Big Ten will include the ISU's and KSU's of the world.
