Huskers Hit A New Milestone In Their Journey To Sucktown

They've done a very poor job of developing talent the last 15 years. Their fan base gets all hyped up about their recruiting classes, star ratings, etc. but they just don't turn it in to anything. Especially true in the trenches where it really counts. They are in a bigger hole than they realize.
 
Before we get all full of ourselves, let me remind everyone that if it weren’t for our underclassmen declaring early, we would not have had a single player selected in the draft. Our grad seniors were all unrestricted free agents or are getting tryouts. Instead, we made NFL history by being the first school to have two TE’s selected in the first round. Just think what Nebby and the Clowns would be saying about us if all our underclassmen stayed. Our record for our guys getting selected in the draft would have been busted. Although I don’t care for either schools fan base, let’s not forget that it could have been a lot worse for us. Let’s at least be a little bit humble and thankful. That said, I am really looking forward to stomping their sorry asses again next year! Go Hawks!
 
I'm still trying to figure out how we needed a game ending field goal to beat them. Oh...now I remember...Adrian Martinez...that's how. I'm not sure when he comes out...but that drought ends with this dude. He's the real deal.

Now, I'm still hoping he has a rift with Frost and transfers to keep the streak alive, but that's something between me and God right now.

True story. I never received my original degree (broadcast communications from Iowa in 1989) because it, along with about 1,500 others, was destroyed in a Jessup Hall office fire days before graduation. I got a replacement degree about three months later.

It was not, however, handed to me in a coach's office on the way out. I did earn it on my own.

Of course to receive my degree I had to settle delinquent U-Bills in addition to the fire. I wasn't always the brightest bulb in my early twenties

By that logic, you could say James Daniels and Josh Jackson should have been seniors on last year's team. But they were already drafted as underclassmen. This scenario can cut both ways

I personally would be pretty excited if our 4 underclassmen that declared/drafted were all coming back.

Happy as hell for all of them. But would love to have them 1 more year. If I'm any if them...I do what they did, especially after seeing how it played out.

With James Daniels and Josh Jackson, i think we win 1, maybe 2 more games in '18.

Iowa recruiting has seemed to trend up the last few years, but imo, it's not enough yet to make up for multiple stud underclassmen leaving early.

But seriously, the love of all that Holy....beat Nebby...hopefully to lock up the West.

Anyone that know me that I have massive disdain for nebby fans, more so than the actual team, who I also loathe. That said, the reality is they were better than their record last year, Improved throughout the season....mostly due to the qb play. They will like be improved overall and I can confirm a lot of effort is being put in to improve oline, dline play. Frost hit the lottery with Martinez.

My over/under for them next year is 8 wins. Without Martinez that drops to about 5. Hes that important for them.

Hawks need to beat them.

A nebby fan quipped to me that Iowa is "fake id", after overhearing my convo with a non douche Nebby fan (they exist but are rare).

I simply replied nebby is the Uncle Rico.
