Husker WR Coach Popped for DUI, 3rd time

He'll be suspended the first game, vs. McNeese St. or whoever they play, then be ready to go week 2. It's how college football works.
Correction: that's how NEBRASKA football works. The initial BAC test was .15, yet somehow it has been dropped to .08 at the court hearing and he pleaded not guilty. I always thought you had to plead guilty if you wanted your charges lowered. A .15 BAC would have been aggravated DUI and a felony with the two previous. Now that it is .08, it will only be a misdemeanor. Business as usual in Lincoln, for now.

UPDATE: Per Steve Sipple of the LJS, Williams is being held till his court appearance tomorrow.
Nebraska is scheduled to have 2 practices tomorrow with media availability by Mike Riley after the first practice that starts at 9AM. Obviously, this does mean that Williams will not be at practice in the morning.

^^^ Why does he have to miss practice? They could take the players and the recruits and workout in the prison yard. The youngsters could tour the place they'll be periodically staying at over the next 4 years. Win win.

What kind of person jeapardises a $400,000 salary just to get drunk? A Nebraska Dumbfusker I guess. Are they going to wait until he kills someone before they take serious steps to stop this behavior?

I suspect there have already been a few conference calls between Nebraska administration, AD, and Riley. No doubt there will be more. Odds are, a search for either a temporary or permanent replacement has already begun.

I think it will eventually be permanent. As for Williams maybe he stops boozin and works his way back to where he was over time.
