Huge Win

Almost every game on the schedule is a 50/50 type game, give or take. The problem is, 9-9 won't do it. We need to do better than 50/50 by at least two games.

The good news is this team is improving and should be pretty tough by the end of the season. Combine the depth and a full season of experience and this may be the year Iowa makes some noise in the conference tournament.

I rewatched the 2H and OT this morning. I gotta say our defense is still really really bad. I've never seen a team give up so many wide open 3s. I'm still not a fan of the zone against good teams because it's so easy to get a good shot against. In man we just get ourselves out of position so much. Way too much over-helping and over-hedging. We have a long way to go there.

Yep. I'm not sure how many on here think our defense has improved so much

I personally witnessed Iowa losing a 19 point @ Nebby a couple of years back and losing. No easy games anywhere in this league.

With that said, I agree with the above posters....I think this team is learning to win. You can't really 'teach' that...it has to come from within. And I think this group of very young players have 'it.'

I hope Cook isn't one and done.

Cook isn't a 1 and done talent. He has shown explosiveness around the hoop but his mid range jumper hasn't really come through yet and his defense has plenty of room to grow.

The problem is our bigs as SOOOOOOOOO bad at hedging, that the rest of the teams rotations are terrible. Someone always has to come over and help on the hedge, then someone else man is left open on the perimeter.

Defense has definitely improved this year. You only would think otherwise if you haven't watched any games or only watched a couple games.

I think our interior defense has improved but our perimeter defense is actually worse. We're giving up so many open three's

Our perimeter defense isn't worse. It's just more noticeable because they aren't scoring 50 points in the lane anymore.

It has improved since the beginning of the year. If we played Purdue or Michigan in our first 8 games they both easily score 100+

You're a smart guy and you like KenPom so explain to me how we're improving defensively but our AdjD isn't getting any better?
