According to this article by Steve Wiltfong, Minneapolis prospects Jeff Jones, a 2014 4-star RB committed to Minnesota, and 5-star 2015 DE Jashon Cornell are planning to visit Iowa City this weekend. Cornell is the top rated junior-to-be in the country according to ESPN. In addition to this pair, 2014 4-star DE DeWayne Hendrix of O'Fallon, IL will be in town, as will 2014 LB Aaron Mends and others.

Apparently the homers over on Cyfan think Iowa is not an attractive school for RBs so they have no shot with Jeff Jones.

Interesting I hadn't heard anything about them hosting some studs. Well we just flipped one kid this last week why not some more :)

I saw a tweet yesterday (Morehouse retweeted it) that said Cornell is visiting Iowa instead of "Friday Night Lights" at Ohio St, which I assume is some big recruiting weekend for them.

Does your milkshake bring all the boys to the yard? If it does you better bring your milkshake.

Looks like Raymond Wingo, Markel Smith, and jah'shawn Johnson will be there as well.

I heard there is 8th grader going to be in 9th grade kid from Texas coming this weekend. Get them while they're young!

The kid is from Dallas, and his name is Anthony Hines. Here's what he had to say about his day:

"I had a great day one visit with the Iowa coaching staff and they really liked me and I was very impressed with them can't wait for day two"

Also, having just quoted the tweet of a 14-year-old whom I've never met on an online message board, I'm going to go take a shower now.

Blair Sanderson:

"Confirmed 2015 DE Jashon Cornell was not able to make it to #Iowa this weekend for previously scheduled visit. http://bit.ly/19moWIw"

I'm hearing that very few, if any, of the other big names actually showed up in Iowa City this weekend. The "huge recruiting weekend" seems to have turned into a huge recruiting failure.

Yeah, Wingo and Markel Smith did not make it either. Any word if Dewayne Hendrix made it to visit? If not, we pretty much struck out on getting any of the highly rated recruits in for a visit.
