Yes. I'm looking forward to next year when people say that Iowa has the 2 best OTs and hopefully the best center if Daniels stays. I'm only semi kidding...It's fun when it all comes together. The offensive line, which two freshmen at tackle, playing against what many consider the best D-Line in the Big Ten if not the country, was outstanding.
Here's the only thing that frustrates me this morning. We can only play what if today, but what if Iowa had opened up their offense more earlier in the year? What would their record be now? Could they be 9-0? Sadly we'll never know I guess. I just hope this continues into next Saturday and beyond.
On the flip side I'm not advocating a pass first mentality either. I hope Iowa prepares to run and throw the ball first. Take what the defense gives you. Don't be one dimensional. Wisconsin has to be a little confused now or they believe KF will revert back to the mean and try to establish the run game first no matter what.
And again, stay with the alternate uni's. They look much better than the tired old Steeler's look. Sorry Steeler's fans.
That's because it was PI. Defender made contact well before the ball arrived. The replay showed it clearly.Re: the bold part of your post, we obviously weren't executing as well earlier this season. Yesterday we saw no drops. One pass--exactly one--could have been deemed "more than catchable" for Brandon Smith, but the pass was well-defended, he didn't "drop" it by any means. In fact, on first glance, I thought it could have been PI.
Previous eight games? Pass WOULD have set up the run IF the pass game was consistently working. We saw flashes, but nothing remotely approaching what we saw yesterday. I'm kind of shocked, actually, that Stanley's numbers only showed 20-for-31 and 226 yards.
Then look a little closer. Some of our scoring drives were "short-field" variety. Stanley was alert to throw away the ball when needed. Add to that Wadley and Butler averaging 6.4 yards a carry, 4 INTs, an OSU ejection, and you have a near-perfect scenario for what happened.
Can it happen again? Absolutely. Will it? If they play like yesterday, no question.

I hear you. There were really no dropped passes as in previous weeks, but still believe Iowa used the pass to set up the run which they hadn't done the previous 4 or 5 games at least.
I know it caught OSU off guard as they interviewed Meyer going into the locker room at half. The look on his face when he said, they're passing the ball, was priceless.

James Daniels was impressive yesterday. Like Jackson, he's going to have a decision to make after the season. I think he really likes college, though. I think he comes back.
