“It’s been a Cyclone state, and we want to continue that,” said Naz Mitrou-Long, who added “I don’t want to stay in Iowa City for longer than an hour and a half in my life.”

Hahahahahahahahahajajajajajajajajajajaja...... I am laughing so hard I am laughing in Spanish. Iowa State players mucho loco.
 
There were many factors leading to this sorely needed victory.....

Team D....Outstanding all the way around.....

Moss on Monte. Isaiah is a solid defender. Harassed Monte whenever he guarded him.....

JBo did Very well this game. He has settled into running the team, also played very nice D.....

Jok's three leading into the half was a game changer. Took what little wind was left in the clone sails.....

Cordell played with attitude all evening.....Love this Beast.....

Wagner and Uhl played nicely. Wags getting more comfortable with the ball, played tough all night. Dom did play a good game. Made a timely three in the first half to keep things going and was very good on D. Perhaps both adjusting to their roles on this team.....

Think the Lads are getting into a groove now. Played excellent team ball the entire game. Surprisingly we did not experience the second half fold.....

This was a much needed win to prepare us for the Big 10 knockdown dragout season awaiting.....

Great game, Hawks.....

Possibility a let down after this game, but I believe the Lads are getting things together.....

The effort on D was good to see. That was the most glaring problem for the team.....

Really impressed with the consistent play tonight. No letdown of any consequence.....

Thanks, guys. Fun night in Carver. Happy for a Fran and the guys. They earned it. Nice to see they can D up. I was beginning to wonder.
 
could a team be any less gracious than ISU was in this defeat? Jeez - credit the other team and move on.
 
It's a bad look whenever it's said. I wouldn't go overboard being upset about it. It's just sour grapes and Morris' are fresh.

I don't remember the Hawkeyes running their mouths prior to one of these games recently as did ISU this year but my memory isn't the best.
 
Weelll Monte... You probably have been the better team. but also the last 3 years you have been dominated most of the game by the Hawkeyes. Yes the hawks managed to dribble it down their leg the last two years.

But "clearly" better - not really and not even close.
 
I don't like to rub it in, but I love sports Karma. Naz "I've never made a shot without celebrating the way back down in the court" Long and Monte Morris got what they deserved. It's too bad Niang couldn't get his last year but all is well.

You know how Prohm said before the game that he can tell how important the rivalry is because he hears about it from the top down?

That fanbase, their coaching staff, and their players all seem to act like Jamie Pollard. Brash and arrogant when they have a little bit of success, and full of excuses and a lot of whining in defeat. It all comes from the top down over there starting with JP. The guy is a giant tool and it's contagious.
 
As DP555 said, it starts from the top down......Pollard is a complete and total tool, and that filters down to his coaches, players and fans. Look at the crap Lizzie's has tweeted, look at how classless Niang is, Monte is just the latest in the line of Cyclone whining.
