Everyone looks at Stanley and the oline, with good reason, but Iowa’s RBs aren’t even close to Big 10 level. Outside Goodson, it’s ridiculous. Toren Young has one yesterday where’s the seas parted and he gets 10 yards. That HAS to be a TD or a huge gain. Iowa needs MUCH better talent/explosion at RB

There is no doubt about the rb s. M gambled that Stanley isn't nimble enough to adjust under pressure. He has an arm. He is slow as molasses. He looks like Earl Morrall or old Blanda out there. It's like watching a little old lady crossing a busy street. She knows what's coming but just can't cross in time.

agree with most of this. Game at Penn State last year was different. Stanley over threw a wide open receiver in that game. Receiver could have walked in from 40 yards out. (he was that open) Iowa had first and Goal at the 3 with just a couple minutes left. We had pounded them on the ground in that drive, yet chose to throw on first down which resulted in an interception. Iowa lost that game because their coaches continue to make the most bizarre plays calls in crucial situations. Iowa had 4 downs to get 3 yards in that game and also would have burned clock and Penn State time outs. Iowa played well that day against a good team. Only a moronic play call kept them from winning..

I can’t agree with you that Iowa played well that day at Penn State last year. Iowa was a mess and fortunate to be in the game at the end, at which point the offense reverted to what it has been for too much of the game.

The offense ran the ball in the last drive very effectively . Iowa did not "revert" to anything in that game at the end. 3 minutes left, first and goal on the 3. INT. End of game. Sargeant was a beast on that last drive and never got a chance down on the goal line. Maybe in your eyes, Iowa did not play well, but they outplayed Penn State.
