There seems to be a good amount of new talent on this team, especially on defense. A number of incoming freshman getting noticed, on defense, LB Seth Benson, CB Julius Brents, LB Dillon Doyle, DL Tyler Linderbaum, and on offense, QB Spencer Petras, WR Nico Ragiani. It will be fun following these guys in the years ahead.

So, which of the freshman DTs are they expecting to play? Shannon and Linderbaum?

If you look at 2019 though...wow...and it's on both sides of the ball. Needle is pointing up on Iowa Football.

This year could be like 2008 without the QB controversy. A team that drops some games that it probably should have won that will be really good by late October, then will come out next year firing on all cylinders when there is more experience.

With the new rule that allows freshmen to redshirt if they play in only four games, I could see both playing. Linderbaum was ahead of Shannon on Saturday.

Hopefully not getting choked and handcuffed by inept offensive play calling as we saw last year. More of that, and I see 6-6 right down the middle
