Rob, I am on the same page with you, and that won’t change. I have been pretty smart about racism for a lot of years. I am likely even more radical now. Of course, if I was a minority, I would have a much deeper empathy.

The single most important task is, as you said, “Listen.” But I would add the following...After you listen, reflect. Make your own decisions about the evidence in front of you. If you agree on some issues but disagree with others, that does not make you racist.

I have always tried to follow the advice of a guy a lot smarter than I am.. He wrote, “Seek first to understand. Then seek to be understood.”
