How weak is this forum?

Not one word about PTL and how the new players looked last night. I was really curious about Uhl as well as the other players. Years past there would 5 threads regarding PTL. How times change.

Yea it's weird. I keep checking in to see what people have to say and there's nothing. Good to see that Uhl played well tho. Did kyle myer ever have 18 points in a ptl game?

Any other stats to share??
Dickerson??
TD won't be in Iowa to play in the PTL until July 3 in Waterloo.

Check the Iowa.Rivals.com front page for PTL highlights. Uhl looks really good with the ball in his hands. He and MG beat the Jok/Tuttle team Thursday.

I did some checking and Woody, White, Gesell looked good and Gabe had 17 rebounds. Uhl is going to be good and he will dominate eventually. That is all.

Woody 27 and 9, White 25 and 10, Uhtoff 22 and 8, Uhl 18 and 5, Gabe 10 and 17, Gesell 15 and 6 assists.

As you can tell from those video game numbers, the PTL is kind of a joke and not really worth the energy to follow.

I have never seen a PTL game, lived in Iowa City some years back and not sure if they had the league then, probably did.

Is it all offense and matador defense?

It's like 50-60 players in the league, and only 4-5 (per team) of them are D-1 caliber players, so the talent level isn't very high. Also, yes, there is very little defense. I think Peter Jok averaged like 25 ppg in the PTL last year, to give you an idea of how that carried over to real basketball.

Clearly, with the fade at the end of the season, along with the lack of touted newcomers on the floor, the buzz is quieter than last year. Uhl is the only new guy to see right now, so not a surprise that the enthusiasm from Hawk fans is muted. Fans know about recruiting, and to maintain the momentum with the program, Fran needs to find a top 150 recruit almost every year to pique the interest. Maybe next year.

Dominating the ptl doesn't mean you will dominate D1 but not dominating the ptl means you're definitely not ready for D1. Good to see Uhl dominated.

The PTL is definitely better with UNI back in the mix, but the PTL and CCL are nothing more than working on shots and staying in shape...

By the way, matador defense takes offense to being compared to PTL defense.

Better than trying to read thru the junk on Hawkeye Report. You get about 1 good post out of 10.

Meh, the PTL and CCL are glorified And 1 mix tape tour type games. Take it for whats its worth, basically open gym for good D1 players to have fun at.

Maybe there is a huge percentage of idiots on this board and you are trying to accommodate them, but there is no reason to point out the PTL is a rec league, everybody knows that. If a person doesn't realize that they need to take summer league stats with a grain of salt, that person isn't worth worrying about.

Anyway, hawkeyedrive.com always has a few interviews and videos up after each PTL session. Uhl looks very fast.

Absolutely, and it should be a treat for Hawkeye Basketball Fans to see the recruits in action and observe the improvement of the returning players.....

I am surprised that there are not more fans there.,....

Because there are very, very few people who care enough about Dom Uhl to drive to a sweaty gym in North Liberty to watch him play a glorified pickup game.
