How soon we forget...

Greg Davis appears to run a short passing game offense with limited shots down the field.

JVB has shown zero ability to hit the short/intermediate route.

How does this get better?

It's time for Rudock and it isn't even debatable.

The Big 10 titles, two Orange Bowls (one win), the Outback and Capitol One wins, the top 10 finishes....

Kirk is a great coach and will right the ship.

Vandenberg will get better...fans just need to be patient. And there is no need to get the backups playing time...they are not ready. Whoever is the starter next season can learn at that time....no need to rush things right now.

As I'm sure has already been mentioned, most of those accomplishments are at least 8 years old. From the Capitol One Bowl to now, Iowa's numbers/accolades look like this:

W/L: 58-40 (with 11-2 being a big-time outlier)
Bowl wins: 1 Outback, 1 Orange, 1 Insight (3-3 plus a year without a bowl)
Big Ten titles: 0
Top 10 finishes: 1

The program has been trending south for going on 8 years. Brad Banks is 32 years old. Warren Holloway is 30. We can watch the highlights on YouTube whenever we want, but those glory days are fading more in the rearview mirror with each passing season.

I don't like to be the "what have you done for me lately?" guy, but this isn't an overreaction to a couple disappointing seasons. It's the body of work over the past 7+ years.

Everyone went through the phase thinking JVB would come around and he'd just hit some ice and would quickly recover. The fact we all have to come to terms with is that he hit the same ice that sank the Titanic. He's not going to recover and if we cannot continue to ride it out thinking it'll be ok. He's a sinking ship and if we don't bail our season's dead in the water.

Give the younger guys a shot. They may fail, they may bring some life into this team. Which may give JVB the breath of life he needs to get a little confidence back. His team mates are obviously behind him, however if he has a backup that can come in and give a breath of fresh air to the offense it may help him out a bit and surely couldn't make matters worse.
