Not sure with all the defections how many schollies we have left. Anyone know? Who do we really have a chance to get and what positions are key

I would guess we need:

DE/DL

WR

OL

RB

LB

What else and who would be want at each spot given who is left

I think we have a WR visiting 1-20-12 but not sure what is out there still at other spots (Curry, Lohn?, any other DE/DL)

OL - Kozan, Diamond?, who else

RB - Lynch?, anyone else

LB - ??

Who else do we want or need to get

Think we might be taking our penalty and reducing our number of total schollies this year. ;)

But seriously, when you think how many kickers Iowa will have on schollie and that the recent defections make it likely we won't fill our 85, it keeps STs a concern.

Tevin Shaw a rb out of NJ, WR Golden is to announce in the few days, WR Ian Thomas,
DT Curray is still high on the Hawks, OL Kozan and Diamond are still out there, Schwan is the new name at DE, 76 tackles and 17 sacks his senior year, there are 6-7 more schollies left depending on if the 2 JUCO'S that enrolled count toward this year or last

RB: Tevin Shaw and Akeel Lynch

WR: Ian Thomas, Austin Aikens, and Ray Martin

OL: Alex Kozan

DE: Nathanael Lohn and Evan Schwan

DT: Aaron Curry and Willie Henry

DB: Sean Draper

I think Shaw and Draper are going to sign with the Hawks, they still have a good shot at Kozan. Hopefully they get one of the DE and one of the DT they are looking at. Im assuming they probably will take just one more WR

don't know why you left Diamond off but with OSU getting O'Conner and another O-L commit they are more than likely done, and Michigan having 5 O-L are more than likely done, this is looking very good for Iowa on Diamond. not sure of all the hate for Diamond on this site

It's not Diamond hate.. but we see the writing on the wall.

We were his #6.. only moved into his Top 5 with all the Wisco changes.. and he cancelled a couple visits. In fact, if he wanted to come visit.. he could. But instead, he's got Arkansas this weekend and WISCO the next.. so really, it's hard to even say we are his #5..

I see it like this:

1x DB
1x OL
2x DL/DE
1x WR/Ath
1x RB

And probably round it out with that 2 Star LB from Iowa that projects as a FB..

then why mention anybody as a possibility, all have offers from other schools so the chance they go elsewhere are just as great

you didn't have to by your response we have no chance with Diamond, until they all sign we have noclue as to has interest and who doesn't.
i remember when 4* Hunter signed at the last minute, nobody had said a word about him, and was the biggest surprise.
so until he signs nobody has a clue as to where he is going!
Kiel committed to Indiana the switched to LSU then suddenly switched to ND. but i suppose you knew all along he was going to ND

Yikes you're just way off base. OSU wants at least 1 more OL, 2 if Diamond and Dodson both want in. UM is looking to adds 1 more OL as well. Diamond only added Iowa to his top 5 after UW lost their OL coach, making them presumably his bottom choice.

typical OSU entitlement mentality, they get everybody and anybody they want and Iowa has to settle for their leftovers

what in the recent history of recruiting would say that they are not entitled to this mentality?

OSU and UM are both "rebuilding" with new coaching staffs and they may feel they need an upgrade in the trenches, especially at UM.

I don't think there is any done deals on any of these guys, but really hope Kozan chooses Iowa.

This is probably the most accurate thing you have posted on this message board....and you said it in jest.

When it comes to head to head recruiting battles with OSU, we lose a large majority of the time.

to end this class
RB 3* Tevin Shaw 5'11 190 from NJ
OL 4* Alex Kozan 6'4 295 from Colorado
WR 3* Ian Thomas 6'1 from Maryland
DE 3* Terrell Jackson 6'3 255 from Ohio
DT 3* Willie Henry 6'2 270 from Ohio
DB 3* Sean Draper 6'0 165 from Ohio
QB unknown
it might be one of these 2
dual threat QB 3* Donatell 6'5 195 from Colorado, or pro styleQB 3* Sudfeld 6'5 215, which would make a solid finish to this class

i do to, but i get the feeling KF doesn't one has evident by Derbies desire to be a QB and him having leave so he can do just that.
