I think we could have a ton of players drafted this yr..

Clayborn,Ballard,Klug,Greenwood,DJK,Reisner,Donguhe,Stanzi and Possibly Hunter....
Anyone im leaving out or what do u guys all think?

Clayborn, Ballard, DJK, Stanzi, Reisner, Donahue I think for sure. Possibly Klug (just kind of a 'tweener, and guys like that always get shafted), Hunter, Greenwood (don't think he's going to have the measurables to get drafted, but he'll get a call from someone), and Vandervelde (could become a fair little steal for someone who has the ability to let him develop).

I always thought Klug could maybe shift outside and be a speed rusher. He's got a big motor, and he does well from the DT spot....so maybe more space to move and he can make some more noise

Obvious: Clayborn, Ballard, DJK, Stanzi, Reisner, Hunter
Possibly: Vandervelde, Klug

I don't think that Greenwood or Donahue (Punters can get picked up free agent pretty easily) get drafted

As far as the Juniors, I think they all benefit from staying in school another year, especially McNutt. Needs more reps at WR. Especially with the bargaining agreement coming up.

With the impending bargaining agreement and rookie salaries likely taking a huge hit with a locked in scale, I don't see a reason for a lot of Juniors to jump unless they are 1st round locks..

This goes for not only Iowa, but football programs.

Am I off on this?

This makes a lot of sense even for potential JR 1st rounders. If there is a lockout, they're left holding a big bag of **** and Mr. Agent is going to be footing the bills for the year.

As for Sash & McNutt, you would think they're staying but after Bulaga, nothing would surprise me.

I think Bulaga did the right thing. He saw the money, and went. If he waited til this year, yes he could've been a higher pick, but like you said with the bargaining agreement he could've been screwed, so why not take the money when you can.

Bulaga doesn't really compare to Sash and McNutt. Scouts loved Bulaga's body type and potential even when he was off to a slow start during the season. Neither Sash or McNutt will blow scouts away physically, and neither are close to being a first round pick. They both willl be back.

The bargaining agreement will keep a lot of underclassmen in school. That's why I think DJK could sneak into the 3rd round, because this year's senior WR class isn't all that deep. It's the juniors that are loaded. Without them, DJK will get drafted earlier than expected.

I have it on fairly good authority that, if the decision had to be made today, that we would be short a certain WR going into next year.

I don't think it's the right decision, but would never blame anyone for it either...

I see your point, but if it were me, I would jump at it rather than come back and tear an ACL or do my achilles and get exactly 0 Pro dollars ever.

Sash & McNutt would be making big mistakes coming out early when neither of them are being mentioned as first round material in a year, where they might not even get to play.

Sash is a legit top 5 safety right now, but that typically translates to a 2nd or 3rd round selection. But in reality if he comes back next year he's not likely to move up in positional rankings at all. I think he stays, but I'm just not sure.

McNutt on the otherhand can make a lot of money if he comes back for one more year and does it all over again. He's in the 2nd-3rd round range right now, but if he shows he can star w/o DJK doing most of the dirty work he can move into the first. He should stay, but the pro money can be very alluring.

None. Absolutely nobody will get drafted.

We'll find a loophole in some obscure laws and get everybody back for another year.

What's his family's financial situation? I know they make the trip from St. Louis every week, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're well-off. Spievey really needed the money IIRC, so he took it while he had the chance, and I can't blame him for that. McNutt might see the benefit of spending another year under Soup and being THE guy. If he can improve his speed even a little more going into next year, he could seriously be a mid-first rounder. He already has good acceleration and speed for his size.
