Current standings:

TEAM CONF OVERALL
Ohio State 11-0 24-0
Wisconsin 8-3 18-5
Purdue 8-3 19-5
Illinois 6-5 16-8
Michigan State 6-6 14-10
Minnesota 5-7 16-8
Michigan 5-7 15-10
Penn State 5-7 12-11
Northwestern 4-8 14-9
Iowa 3-9 10-14
Indiana 3-9 12-13

As of right now, I only see three surefire locks: OSU, Wisconsin, Purdue.

Illinois should make it unless they tank, and I suspect MSU will receover and sneak in given their brutal non-conference schedule but that remains to be seen. The committee always loves SOS.

Minnesota is anything but a lock at this point, especially if we knock them off tomorrow and they lose their 5th straight.

Michigan could potentially sneak in if they get hot, but I'm guessing NIT for them.

Doesn't look like anyone else has much shot outside of winning the BTT.

My prediction is 5:
OSU, Wisky, Purdue, Illinois, and MSU.

That's an interesting topic. IMHO, unless Illinois gets hot down the stretch, no dance for them. And MSU? Wow... If MSU goes, there should be an investigation. They've been blown out repeatedly, they've quit, no way does MSU deserve the NCAA tournament this year.

And so from where I sit, I think only 3 Big Ten teams will deserve to go, based on regular season performance. Maybe somebody else sneaks in via the BT Tourney route, but 4 would be the max.

On the other hand, how about 3 teams from the MVC? If UNI can get straightened out after losing O'Rear and beat Wichita State again tonight...on ESPN2 no less...then the MVC could have a great case for sending 3 teams to the tourney. I'd like to see it...especially if one is UNI.

The MVC will not get 3 teams and the Big 10 will get at least 5. I will guarantee both statements.

The Big Ten has the 2nd highest RPI (was highest until this week) and 2nd highest SOS.

I think we get 5 teams in for sure and if Michigan or MSU get hot late and make it to the semis of the conf tournament they have a shot at being #6.

My locks
OSU
Purdue
Wisky

In but still need to do some work
Illinois
Minny
Minnesota

Bubble and need a lot of help
MSU
Michigan

Out
PSU
NW
Iowa
IU

The Big10 will get 5 as long as Michigan State or Minnesota gets their heads out of their a$$es in time to get an invite...odds are against both as MSU seems disinterested and Minnesota will have another "bad loss" hung on their punk a$$es tonight in Carver-Hawkeye Arena!:D Northwestern and Penn State are just as disappointing as I thought both had more nutsack this year than it turns out they do and Michigan doesn't seem ready to step up to the plate in a big boy role this year.

Put me down for 5. I still think MSU gets in. Would anybody be shocked if they won the Big ten tourney. I can't remember the year when MSU had a disappointing regular season, but ended up in the final 4, it feels like type of year for MSU.
