How does tOSU make so few fouls?

Aaron Craft is one of my favorite college basketball players in recent memory. He is what college athletics are supposed to be about. Does he get calls based off his reputation? Absolutely. But he has earned that reputation over the last 3 years. He is one of the best players in college basketball, get over it.
Too bad his reputation doesnt influence the ball into the net

I am not a Craft fan by any means and never will be. Your bold part is correct, he is a great individual off the floor.
On the floor, he does some solid fundamental things, but here is why I will never be a fan of him. Craft has mastered the art of being able to grab and push with the hand that the refs do not see. Call it what you will, but they are fouls that don't get called. The other thing I simply cannot stand is in between every timeout when the cameras are off, he is in an officials ear. That is probably one of the most pathetic things I have seen, but hey if you are okay with those things then fine, I will not ever be.

Problem is, he arrived in college with the reputation of being a great defensive player and seeing as how he is a buckeye, he didn't have to prove or earn it.

He is the kid from the neighborhood pick up game that calls all of his own fouls when he has a bad play, but argues with you after he mugs you trying to get the ball back.

I give him credit for hustling his way into being a b1g starter with that otherwise pathetic skill set. I respect that.

That being said, I also hate watching him play. He reminds me of every spoiled rotten mama's boy you've ever known.

McCabe must have come in with the rep of having slow feet and a habit of sticking an arm out. Poor guy can't play 2 minutes without being whistled. Of course he plays for Iowa so go figure.

McCabe's got a reputation that precedes him, too. You'll very rarely see him get the benefit of the doubt on a borderline play.

He plays within the rules as they are called and is a team captain and has every right to talk with officials.

I am definitely a fan of craft. He can influence the game in a way that few can without being a scorer.

Okay, it is one thing to be a captain and talk to the officials and then there is the way Craft talks to the officials, well, he doesn't he whines to them. He has this bent over little crouch and whines. I do not like when the camera is off how players especially are allowed to grab and touch officials and complain to them, it is what Craft does.

He does not play within the rules if he still grabs guys on the dribble drive after he impedes their progress when he gets beat, he does get beat, but doesn't always get called for the hand check and hip checks. Those are fouls and it is very apparent that officials are still going to not call balanced games depending on who is playing.

That said, it is not a revelation to me either because how much can you really expect officiating to change?

Sounds like your frustration should be at officials if they aren't calling him for the fouls.

Really you just sound bitter.

Wow, it is the fact that I don't like whiny players and he is a whiner with a reputation. My frustrations lie with both, not bitter it is true. For whatever reason he doesn't get called for stuff other players do and he has a tantrum every time a foul is called against him.

I've only had a chance to catch one of their games but from what I saw they don't hack at the ball as wildly as most defenders do.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about basketball except you shoot the ball into a little hoop and you get 1, 2, or 3 points. Also, as I had hoped, half court shots and beyond don't count as 4 points.

How do they get away with so many fouls? My guess is that they allow the referees (and their families) to shop at the same Auto Dealership as Terrell Pryor and the football guys. Just a little perk from tOSU...ain't nothing wrong with free car with 0.00% financing. The problem was, Terrell still wasn't sure if he was getting a good deal.

No clone fan but Niang should have knocked crapft on his can.

Clyburn did that and got called for a charge. Lost them the game, or so the ISU fans saw it.

Craft does get his share of 'doubt' thrown his way. I'll be glad to see him gone, but then someone else will take his place.

Sure, but maybe we'll get lucky and the next guy won't be in the Big Ten. The last guy who got under my skin the way Craft has for the last three years was J.J. Redick.

What exactly do you think this video shows?

I see two guys slowly jog into each other and one attempts to draw the officials attention by throwing his arms up and the other looks at them like WTH?

Wow. No one remembers this? The bump occurred after a timeout was called, so there was no foul going to be called. That's why I thought it was funny how Craft reacted. Here's what happened just after this from another angle. Niang tried to shake Craft's hand and he says no and pulls his hand away. :)
