How does Iowa's Resume' compare to Providence?

Just looking at their schedule, they beat a few tournament teams. Bests wins look to be Creighton & Butler

I'm not going to complain about other making it over Iowa. Bottom line is we didn't do enough to get it. Looking at Providence, I don't see how anyone could saw Iowa should be in before them.

Ultimately I think what kept Iowa out was Rhode Island winning their conference tournament. They grabbed a 11 seed, but it they would have been bounce early in their conference tournament, I don't see how this resume would have gotten them in:

1-3 vs RPI top 50 teams (as they don't beat VCU in conference title game)
6-4 vs RPI top 100 teams

Not when Iowa is 5-7 vs top 50 RPI teams.

I saw that the Big East got 70% (7/10) of their teams in the dance. Each team is guaranteed 4 games with St John's and DePaul.

I thought this was one of the least controversial brackets the committee has put out in a long time. Heck the "experts" were struggling to find things to ask the committee chair about. One was complaining about Duke but, whatever, they still got a 2 seed. My only minor beef was Wichita State being seeded 10th but it was a down MVC so, whatever.

Bottom line is Iowa didn't do enough to deserve a bid, I have no problems with Providence being in over Iowa. Honestly there are at least 2 other teams that deserved to be in over Iowa.

I really don't have a problem with Iowa not making it either, as I think we had a chance in the BTT and didnt make it happen. My main objections with the bracket are 1. the overall low seeding of the big ten teams, and 2. How does St. Mary's even get in, let alone a 6? Don't you have to beat someone? Iowa, Syracuse and Indiana all deserved to be in over them.

I agree that Iowa wasn't the first team out so it likely doesn't matter.

I'm not sold Providence has a better resume'. They got 5 conference/ tourney games against St John's & DePaul. Two more against a bad G'Town team. Their best wins are:

Home vs. Butler
@Marquette
@Creighton w/ out Watson
Home vs Marquette
Home vs Rhode Island (non-conf best win)

Losses at home to St John's & @ DePaul

I'm not convinced that's a better Resume' than Iowa's.

St Mary's deserved in, they did beat 3 tournament teams in the non conference along with Stanford on the road. The problem with teams like St Mary's is that no one will play them. It's the same story with Illinois State who the committee left out.
