If Woodbury does commit, and then the whole rumor about paige blows up. Paige either decommits and comes to iowa (which would be very cool), or he shoots down the rumors and goes to UNC. Then later down the road, Iowa draws UNC in the big ten acc challenge. Woodbury and gessell up against paige. Not only that but if Iowa won. That would be the "serves you right moment" (pretty cool).
 
I like the thought of these guys mixing it up with Paige and UNC, but prefer that the setting be the E8 playing for a Final Four!
 
That WOULD NOT be a serves you right moment. It would be an Iowa is back moment.

Seriously, we don't want to come off as a bitter fan base. That will only strengthen Mr. Paige's resolution to honor his verbal commitment.

There have been numerous journalists (at this site and others) who have all stated at various times that they are hearing that MP is wavering. None of them have said it in a formal article, as far as I know. The talk is coming from social networking sites, like this. The notion is certainly being discussed by high-level Hawkeye beat writers. Pretty much all of them, as a matter of fact.
 
Once AW commits there will be all kinds of rumors swirling around Paige. Most of it will be trolls stirring up stuff but I cannot help think that Paige might second guess himself. Iowa City is a short drive for the family, Fran has the program turning upwards, and they have just landed a big time recruiting class. Iowa has to look awefully attractive to the top recruits once the Top 100 Camp MVP commits to Iowa.
 
Fran was at all of Gesell and Woodbury's AAU games this summer, meaning he was at all of Paige's as well. I'm just sayin...
 
This all falls in the too good to be true category. However, that said, I'd be off the charts ecstatic. For now, let's hopefully (fingers crossed) get Mr. Woodbury in the program and celebrate that. I don't want any luster taken away from Adam's possible commitment by us wanting more. Go Hawks!

As I said in another thread in response to this article: What do you expect?

He's not going to say boo until after Woodbury commits. Obviously, it's a longshot, and in all likelihood Paige sticks with Carolina. But if he were considering backing out, do you think he would say as much publicly BEFORE Woodbury commits (and that's if Woody comes to Iowa in the first place)? You don't usually say "I'm wavering" to the press, especially if you're committed to UNC. You don't say anything unless you're already gone.
 
How cool would it be is Barnes decided to transfer to Iowa? That has the same likelihood as Paige backing out of his commitment with UNC and going to Iowa.
 
This is thinking way out there, but how sweet would it be to get Woodbury tonight, already have Gesell, somehow get Paige to switch and secure a commitment from Macon. That gives us a 5 member class with four in the top 100.... Thats a top 5 class!

This. If Adam follows his heart and joins the Hawkeyes, it will be a GREAT day for Iowa basketball.

Getting Paige would be nice, but this is Woody's day to be King. Let's at least give him that.

I'm way fired up to get some great news tonight. I don't understand how some fans are so mad at Roy for trying to get iowa kids. Thats a great thing that means we have great kids here worth going after. If Hawks can tie down Adam it could be an absolute great thing for hawkeye nation. I don't know about you but I want to continuously chase after kids that UNC OSU Kansas and Duke are going after as opposed to Missouri valley schools. Just saying.

Macon already eliminated Iowa. I am pretty sure, since Paige and Woodbury play on the same team, that he knew he was highly considering Iowa. If he was using that as a determining factor, he would not have committed when he did. Since UNC gets two or three guys that are more highly rated than Woodbury every year, why would Woodbury's destination change his mind? He will have good players to play with.
 
It's sad that when G committed to Iowa, all this board did was talk about Woodbury. Now that Adam may be committing, people are talking about Paige. Live in the now. :)
