How can you not be frustrated, and worried?

How can you not be frustrated and worried about the team "losing the will to win" when this was the most talented team Iowa has had in a LONG, LONG time.

How can you not be frustrated that this high priced coach in Ferentz gives us average results, and not great results?

How can you not be frustrated that Iowa keeps losing recruits? Including a Blue-Chip from 20 minutes from the Football Campus?

How are you not frustrated that the coaching staff keeps running the same old schemes with the same old philosophies?

How are you not frustrated that Iowa doesn't try to recruit the big athletes, the speed, rather than just the toughness?

How are you not worried about what the future of Iowa football is?

How are you not worried about what Phil Parker will provide when Norm retires, after watching the games this season?

How are you not frustrated that a VERY even Wisconsin team was blowing people out of the water, while Iowa was busy getting beat, and/or scoring low against them?

How are you not frustrated, and worried?

That's all I have. Because it's how I feel.

Have you seen French play? HARDLY a "blue-chipper". He's another Paul Chaney: great athlete, but not a football player. There is a mile of difference between those two things.

I HAVEN'T in person, but have seen some tape. And key word is ATHLETE, and that's what Iowa DOESN'T have, but needs. That's why we're never goin to grow in the college football world. Lack of them.

Athletes are great. But if we're going to go after great athletes, I want great athletes that are football players, not just guys that look good in the weightroom, gym, or on a track. That's not French. Bob Sanders is the kind of athlete I want to see us get more of. That guy was a football player, but he had tremendous athleticism.

I don't know why your are frustrated? As one post says, Iowa has the best 55-minute team in America. The coaches have forgotten that the game is 60-minutes...

Things I worry about:
A. How can you not be frustrated and worried about the team "losing the will to win" when this was the most talented team Iowa has had in a LONG, LONG time. Probably my biggest worry but I'm afraid a lot of it hinges on C.

B. How are you not frustrated that a VERY even Wisconsin team was blowing people out of the water, while Iowa was busy getting beat, and/or scoring low against them? See C.

C. How are you not frustrated that the coaching staff keeps running the same old schemes with the same old philosophies? This is really concerning me, as we do what we do when every coach I know from the pee-wees to college spend time adapting to attack the opponents D while adapting to stop their O.

Things I do not worry about:
D. How can you not be frustrated that this high priced coach in Ferentz gives us average results, and not great results? We won the Orange Bowl last year and have 4 top 10 finishes in the KF Era. We are not going to be there every year, but I have no doubt we will be back.

How can you not be frustrated that Iowa keeps losing recruits? Including a Blue-Chip from 20 minutes from the Football Campus? I do not think French is that good. Only saw him play once but left unimpressed, unlike Morris last year when I thought he was a man among boys.

How are you not frustrated that Iowa doesn't try to recruit the big athletes, the speed, rather than just the toughness? We can recruit everyone, but who can we get on campus? Do you think the staff can get everyone they want? Come on...our choices are limited.

How are you not worried about what the future of Iowa football is? As stated, we will finish in the top 10 again...maybe not next year but it will happen in the next 5.

How are you not worried about what Phil Parker will provide when Norm retires, after watching the games this season? Phil coaches different than Norm. He blitzes more apparently. Blitzing is a skill that needs to be taught, and we tried it without teaching a lot of it. I'm not saying PP is the guy, but once again I feel we will be fine.

* We need to take a look around. ND blows. USC blows. Michigan blows. Miami, Florida St., ect. Florida and Nebraska are not rated (I don't think)...Iowa is not historically in a league with any of those teams...it is ok to have a disappointing year.

You recruit athletes to coach into football players. Isn't that the point of a coach? To turn them into a football player and progress them?

How can you say he uses the blitz more? I didn't see that as far as when he was in charge.

By the way, nice response!

He doesn't appear to have very good hands (not sure if that can be coached), and he shies away from contact. He just doesn't seem to have the right mentality to play for a program like this. And THAT is something you definitely can't coach, and it's the most important trait of a good player.

Maybe he did not blitz more, but when he was in charge I thought we did. Maybe some of the local stats guys can break that down.

I think Aiken comes back as DC to be honest...what that means I don't know.

I've been a season ticket holder for nearly 30 years. I've not missed a bowl game since the cap one bowl. I'm not frustrated because, even though a big fan, I don't let it occupy my life. There are other more important things in this world.

You keep your well-adjusted-ness away! I don't want to get any on me until I turn 25! :D

Its just a game and KF nor anone else is going to stop college kids from doing things that cause trouble ,sometimes serious trouble. I will be disappointed of course and maybe a little mad but as the good doctor said earlier, can't let it be your whoe life.

That's all I have. Because it's how I feel.

because i have virtually no control or say in what goes on with the iowa football program, if im going to put any energy or time into this program it is going to be on the positive things i can enjoy, not the things i cannot control.

believe it or not there are more important things going on in my life i need to worry about

I am not frustrated or worried because there are about
10 million things in life that are far more important than
the W/L record of a college football team.

I'm most worried about the very real possibility of an avalanche of illegal activity that may or may not have been occurring under KF's nose.

No pun intended.

And to further the point, by that very lack of supervision may cost him his job! I think that would be the biggest blow to the overall program. Loewdog pretty much summed the rest up.
