How bad of an idea would this be...

Seeing as how the Polish Hat, CJF is going to be our best receiver, and he isn't the best blocking TE in the world...

What about going with two TE's on offense, but lining up CJF in the slot?

I know, stupid right?

When CJF was doing his assignment correctly he blocked very well, especially against Michigan last year. That said, I would love to see him in the slot Gronk style creating mismatches down field. If Hamilton keeps progressing they could be a very athletic and tall two tight end set tandem.

someone try this out in the ncaa 13 playbook editor and report back ASAP.

on it. CJF dominates so I'm sure it will work well.

I like the thought of putting Hamilton/Derby at TE, CJF in the slot and Davis/KMM out wide. you really have the potential to go with a 3TE power set or 5 wide set (assuming Bullock in the backfield) with that personnel. Also you could release 3 into routes and keep 2 TEs in to block.

i believe in an interview with cjf he said that they had been working on this a little.

heck in the red zone put him on the outside for a jump ball.

It would be a great idea, and I can guarantee you Davis is already on top of it. If we can force safeties or even the occasional corner to man up on CJ, that's obviously a huge mismatch and we could ride that all the way to the endzone. (See Gronkowski, Rob).
