How are things in Ann Arbor?

It's amazing how Harbaugh, a former NFL quarterback, can't develop or settle on one.

It's like watching Barbara DeAngelis call herself a renowned author and relationship specialist when she's been divorced five times.

Slumber Party Jim's best quarterback in his Michigan tenure may very well be Iowa castoff Jake Rudock.

I agree except that Rudock was not an Iowa castoff but he just lost his starting position to CJB. And guess what if Rudock stays with Iowa he is part of an undefeated team that plays in the Rose Bowl and maybe gets some snaps in some games.

Rudock did play well enough at Mich to get a couple of years in the pros so good for him

Heard on a podcast this morning, Chryst reportedly tells the oline “you better be able to push them off the ball because this is the worst Dline you will face all year”. Apparently came from a recruit who was in the locker room.

I kinda believe it to be true after Wisconsin went for it on 4th and 1 from their own 34 in the 1st quarter. Just complete disrespect

It helps that Wisconsin holds on every freaking play, but they did seem to get a great push in this game.

Yes. That’s the Iowa luck.

He may have a concussion though.

He definitely has a concussion. That hit he took was despicable and I can’t imagine him clearing the protocol quickly.

That being said, I wasn’t overly impressed with him while he was in the game anyways.

He definitely would have gotten some snaps in that rose bowl. YIKES

For these P5 games, the NCAA needs an independent concussion expert on the field. If a guy on a forcible hit concusses someone, he should be suspended for the remainder of that game and the whole next game, not just a half if it happens in the second half. And the team that has the player concussed should be able to designate a disqualification from the other team. The competitive advantage you can gain from concussing an opposing player needs to be totally removed. So in the Wisconsin versus OSU game, OSU could have some second string LB concuss JT and they'd just lose that second string LB. That's a bad deal. Wisconsin should be able to designate Fields as disqualified from the balance of the game to try to level out the harm that occurred to them. That will help clean up this thuggery.

Yeah, that hit was brutal. I don’t know why Connie fans were booing the call.

And, no, he wasn’t impressive but the Michigan offense was even less than one dimensional by that time.

I think you’re on the right track — especially about “neutral” physicians on each sideline for head shots.

They are never going to punish a player who wasn’t involved in the play.

I could see that a player flagged for a head shot would get suspended like they do now or the 4Qs -minimum- or if the injured player can’t play for three games then the flagged player can’t play for three games.

The problem with the mirrored suspension is that say Iowa played Wisconsin in Week 3 and our backup RB got his bell rung. We could sandbag on that kid's return to hold out Wisconsin's safety or LB for the whole rest of the season.

The penalty needs to be proportional to the crime. If a team knocks out Nate Stanley on a play like the one McCaffrey got knocked out on, we should absolutely be able to cause one of their offensive guys to be DQed for that game. I think it would eliminate these head first dives that are so dangerous and that is what the NCAA is trying to do. The headhunting Wisconsin was doing on Michigan's QBs in that whole game was despicable. Yeah, Michigan's o-line sucked, but they teed off on Patterson and McCaffery in a major way.

That’s where the neutral physicians come in.

They need to make the switch to Mccaffrey Which they will do by the Iowa game and he will go off of coarse
We would have been much better off if Michigan would have won that game, on many levels. Now, I fully expect Michigan to play their best game of the year against Iowa. We could still win but it’s going to be tougher.

If they're anything like Deace's latest podcast....whew!

If true thats hilarious! The worst!

I've said it all year long that PSU and Mich don't scare me. I wasn't sure about Wisconsin as I wanted to see them play a real team.

After watching them dominate Michigan at the LOS, I'm not confident we can hang with Wiscy.

Every college program is a regional program. Just like Nebraska and Notre Dame and others they have failed to realize this and think what they did 40 years ago matters today, it doesn’t.

Any program can and will fall if they hire the wrong coach and have a few off recruiting years. Even a place like Bama after Saban retires can slip into mediocrity.

We had a terrible drought at Bama between Bear and Nick. Stallings lucked into one title, but other than that, misery.

The last couple of times I've watched Wisconsin, I zeroed in on the O-line just to see what technique is being used.

What I saw in slow-mo is that Wisconsin basically teaches a rugby style of play. What the linemen are doing is getting a push together, then extending their arms to keep the opposing players from moving laterally and filling the gaps. In the rugby scrum, it's almost impossible for the officials to see the hands get outside of the body.

They also actively "feel" for the runner behind them, and on a few occasions will actually reach out and grab and pull the runner while he is climbing up their backs or along their sides. At the same time, other players push the RB from behind. It's very effective, especially when the opponent shifts more bodies inside to counter, in which case Taylor (or whomever) simply side-steps and shoots through a vacated gap.

Combining a rugby scrum with great RBs is a recipe for disaster. We are going to have our hands full.
