Fran's offense, motion or screening low and at the elbow, get players open for jumpers all over the court. We dont make nearly enough of those jumpers so then the lane is clogged.

If Jok can get on fire and uthoff also hit a good % of jumpers then the lane will open up. Notice how Wisky packing the lane totally shut down Woody and Gabe, what 2 pts for them.

Coaches dare Iowa to take the jumper.

I don't think it was Wisconsin packing the lane that shut down Woody and Gabe. They did a good job of that by themselves. Their combined stat line: 41 minutes, 0-2 FG, 1-2 FT, 7 rebounds (5 from Woody) and 6 fouls.

And yes, they dare Iowa to take the jumper. I would if I were coaching against Iowa. They have yet to prove they can shoot consistently from beyond 15 feet. Against Wisconsin we shot 43.5% from the field and 40% from three - that is one of our better shooting games.

Actually that's pretty much our avg fg%. Little higher than avg 3pt % but a couple of those came with no pressure as the game had already long been decided.
