Scheduling in the non-conferencing.
Cal, Colorado played three major conference teams and at least one really good mid-major like UNLV. It doesn't matter that they lose to these teams, it just makes their numbers look better.
The Pac-12 is absolutely awful and should not have gotten those two teams in, but they capitalized on scheduling and losing outside of conference and getting double digit conference wins.
Arizona/UCLA/Oregon would finish no higher than 5th in the Big Ten, period.
The best non-conference win was Arizona winning at home against a very overrated Florida.
