Houston Texans fired their offensive coordinator

Hilarious.. Has no experience as an OC at any level, has no business being the OC here, but the Texans will want him?

The Houston Texan OC for the past 2 years was the guy who replaced Brian as TE coach at New England in 2012. He had never been OC until he was hired by Bill O'Bien at Houston and was 36 when hired as a first time OC.

Hate on Brian as much as you want, but at least quit looking like an idiot and saying that he doesn't deserve the job because of experience. Bobby Stoops was an assistant coach for 6 years before getting his first DC job. Beliema was a LB coach for 7 years before getting his first DC job. Brian has been a coach for 7 years now, and is getting his first OC job. This isn't out of the ordinary at all.

If you want to compare to the playoff D1 teams, it's unusual. Depends on the bar, They might have thought of naming him Co OC first.

Jeff Scott, Clemson offensive Coordinator, spent 7 years as a D1 or NFL coach before getting the OC gig at Clemson

'06 High School coach
'07 Presbyterian WR coach
'08 Clemson WR coach
'09-14 Clemson WR coach and Running Coordinator
'15-Present Clemson OC

Bill O'Brien Fired his OC, Now that a classic OC scapegoat lmao... He was the mastermind to the Houston Offense and is a below average head coach. Lucky for him he coaches in a terrible NFL Division where he gets a guaranteed 5 wins and has to find another 4 to secure a playoff bid just only to lose..Anyone who thinks Houston's OC George Godsey had control is on crack, the guy probably isn't even qualified to be a OC at the College level..

As for the question will Bill O'Brien make a run maybe but it's even more damn ridiculious to think that BF would leave after just accepting his first OC gig at the University of Iowa under his dad.. LOL !!

You know Dean you are a master of spin. Yes you are correct in what you said. You left out the Clemson has an Associate Head Coach, and Assistant Head Coach which assumingly are above him and he was named and IS CO-Offensive Coordinator. He also was a head high school football coach.

You as someone above says...are never wrong, but fact checking is necessary.

So that is the long way to say that yes I am correct, he was Clemsons OC..... :)

If you look back through my posts I had even said that you bring on another if you want as passing game OC or even name the Co OC. It really matters little. The fact is that Brian getting the OC job after being a assistant coach in the NFL or D1 school for 7 years isn't unusual.

I would actually be all for bringing in David Raih as Co OC or passing game OC and tell him the OC gig is his when the old man steps down. I don't have a problem with Raih being an Co OC or a passing game coordinator, even though lots around here would find his only 5 year resume lacking.

No you miss the point. Top programs don't bring in inexperience at that level typically. Also Raih would not be as inbred. Brian hasn't been associated with any other college program. Could you imagine being a co-offensive coordinator with the HCs son? Wouldn't that be sweet..

I didn't miss the point at all. You just won't admit when you are wrong. You said playoff D1 programs wouldn't hire someone with Brians qualification.......you were wrong. Oh and Co OC just means you have 2 OC, you are still the OC, I'm not sure what you don't get about that.

Read. I did say either experience or had those around them did such as co asst head coach or co oc.

In this day and age where there's a 30 yr old HC hired by the Rams we are complaining about a kid that's got 7 yrs of paid assistant coaching experience under him getting an OC job? Not to mention growing up in a house where his Dad has been a HC for 18 yrs and a lifetime of coaching overall? Brian's got more 'football' in him then most in that he's been around the game since he was a old enough to know what it is. He played it at this level at this school. He cares more about doing well than any of us all combined. For his own selfish reasons but also because it's HIS SCHOOL. I heard Deace in their podcast talking to Jon about how no other school would hire Brian for an OC job. That's just fine by me. I'd rather hire him rather then a retread or even another up and coming guy. Brian I think we can all guess wants to take over for his Dad eventually. Well how do you think he can ever accomplish that? It won't be by going 8-5 and having the worst passing offense in college football practically. To me this is great. It puts he and KF on the hottest of seats they've had yet. There's pressure put on themselves now to succeed that till now KFs contract the last however many years didn't really have him having any of. Now if he wants to hand the baton off.... Clocks ticking
