Hotel recommendations

Try the hotel at the IMU. It's definitely the cheapest of the hotels in Iowa City, and the location is great.

The Cedar river doesn't run through Iowa City; the Iowa river does. Derp.

But it's close, and you probably wouldn't have to worry about some drunk college kid relieving himself on you, or rocking your van while you slept.

You could always stay in the armpit, it's not too bad of a drive to IC from there.

There are a number of nice motels/hotels on the SW side of Cedar Rapids. Restaurants are also available, along with some watering holes. I refuse to pay Iowa City prices for motels. I pay $70 a night for a nice motel at the refurbished Super 8...clean, comfortable, and a very nice staff. Its takes me less than 30 minutes to get from my motel to my parking spot near Kinnick. It is an easy, safe drive on 380/80 with easy access to IC. (the motels are 3 blocks from the ramp to 380). There are also Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, Days Inn, Comfort Inn, and a couple of others.

Long story short: I refuse to pay more than $10 an hour to sleep.

My dorm couch is available, just bring the alchohol
